Instant PM Notificaions

Giantbombers! We just launched our new notification system. There are really two parts to this new system which are explained below.

Roll-Up Email Notifications:
This system is currently in Beta right now. We have a small batch of test users (as well as our mods) who are running through it right now making sure everything is all good before we roll out it across the entire site (which should be next week - so be patient - we want to make sure we get everything correct before push it to the entire community).

The Instant PM Notification System:
This was pushed this afternoon as well and is a new feature that is meant to give you instant notice as soon as somebody has acted on your content. Instant notifications are set up to be delivered when:

1. Somebody wants to be your friend
2. Another user has saved a new draft of one of your guides
3. Somebody has commented on your blog/review/image/guide/etc.
4. One of your wiki submissions has been approved

Neat.

But don't make it annoying.

It can be turned off completely if you wish."

Question:

Can it be turned off for specific PM's only? I get ALOT of Secret Hideout PM's and I don't want a notification for that every couple of seconds.

Just an update, the service seems to work. I got a couple of wall posts and the PM's came instantly.

Got my first notification and I must say that I'm loving it. :)

It works for me, I just got notified of someone commenting on my wall.

It's working great for me so far.

I have just got my first notification and it was all about other people posting in forums, Guides and blogs.

Great! I was wanting this feature for a while.  

Keep up the good work guys.  This site keeps getting better and better.

We had a slight bug w/ the Email Notifier this morning. For those of you who received two or more email notifications this morning - wanted to send you a quick apology. The bug has been found (i had to re-run the script to track it down and squash it - hence the multiple emails) and should be fixed now.

Thanks all for your patience. Your feedback during this beta period is so helpful in letting us stabilize the system before we roll it out site-wide!

So I received my second Mail and there was some new parts like news, Comments, submissions etc . Most of users were already on my friend list and a couple of random users. So far everything works fine.
