What do you think are the chances this will arrive on PC?

Guerrilla Games are owned by Sony, Sony are in strong need of first party exclusives and don't have much of a history of putting any of their exclusives onto PC. I don't think this ever comes to PC.

Their games are so insanely optimized for the hardware and funded/shepherded by Sony so intensely it's just not gonna happen. It'd be like Uncharted coming to PC. Why, if you were Sony, would you shoot your console in the face like that?

It would depend on the gameplay of Horizon. If it's a Monster Hunter type game, I could see them try and do what Microsoft is doing with the new Fable game and Killer Instinct. Granted that those are both free to play games.

Unlike Sony, however, Microsoft have a vested interest in bringing their games to PC because of Windows. They don't even own SOE anymore at that, so really there's no (current) benefit to them bringing their games to PC.

PS4 needs some damn games, man. If this was third-party then it would seem icky, but first-party (EDIT: if not first-party involvement, ala Bloodborne) should always be exclusive.

The devs only have one game on PC and that was before they made a "Hey we work for you guys now." deal with Sony.

I'm kind of in the middle about if it's good or not, in a perfect world, all games would be available for all consoles and harmony for all and lalala, but it's not perfect, and I kind of like that Sony has to go "Hey, we/one of our devs need to put a lot of work into this game that is only for this console so we can give the current owners something good to prove they made a good choice in getting our shit and show people who don't own our shit that they need our shit." Sooooo sorta good?

I don't think it'll come to PC because sony has no games, but I think guerilla might like to rather than being stuck with PS4 only.

I could see coming in 5 years to 10 years time. Remember Sony wants to expand the platforms it offers vue and ps now on. In the immediate future zero.

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has no incentive to support the PC. They will make sales from the game, but it takes away one reason to get a PS4.

Sure it would take it away from PS4, in the sense that it takes it away from the value of owning a PS4. Because frankly if all games were mutliplat, how many people would still own consoles at all? Especially Nintendo hardware?

As a former Sony platform of choice of guy, this is the first title to make me even consider a PS4. If I knew it could come to PC, I wouldn't even consider getting a PS4, I would just wait for the PC version. This for instance is what I'm doing with Final Fantasy Type O HD (which recently got announced for PC) and for 90% of what I want to play that works.

If I were to get a PS4, then chances are I'd buy more than one game for it. Because I'm not going to drop $400 for one game. I'm not made of money, so keeping quality first party games like this purely platform exclusive increase the odds of Sony getting some of my gaming budget vs the basically none they get now.

And it matters to existing console holders like Yummylee, because if games like this succeed then it drives new hardware purchases which can fuel more Platform exclusives. If that doesn't happen, then people like him have to wonder if they made the right choice buying a closed ecosystem essentially single use system.

Selfishly I really want this to come to PC, but I can't deny it's good business for Sony to keep it exclusive unlike Microosft which has a stakehold in the PC gaming market.

I think if it comes in any way to the PC, it will come a few years from now as a PS Now game which can be accessed from the PC. Admittedly, all PS Now games are PS3 games, I think that will change in the near future as the PS4 matures.

I don't want to sound belittling, but I think we all here are deep into games enough to understand that Sony does not publish an exclusive title for their own system on other hardware.

i am just glad that ps4 i bought a few years back is getting a purpose. (own a pc and a console) but o boy was it a ghost town for a while on PS4 exclusives.

With how much praise the game's getting and probably making people buy PS4s in the same ways as Uncharted 4 and Blooborne, the already non-existant chances became doubly non-existant.

Its safe to assume that it's going to remain an exclusive for the foreseeable future, but you can't say for a fact that it will never get ported.

I consider myself a PlayStation fan and have played on their platforms almost exclusively for all of my gaming life. With that said Sony isn't doing so hot, so who knows what'll happen with PlayStation in the future. From my perspective I think PlayStation as a brand is strong enough to outlive the turmoil at Sony, but I'm sure people felt the same way about Sega, Atari, etc.

Console sales this generation are lower than the previous. People are losing interest. Yet the gamer PC market is bigger than ever. We can only hope the mainstream console becomes redundant and in ten or twenty years Sony will distribute their games on PC, perhaps through their own store.

If it does, it will be at least a year from now. Or on PS Now. This is a Sony first party game, it's a game to convince you to buy a PS4. Putting it on the PC defeats the purpose of exclusivity.

This is just completely wrong.

• The PS3 sold just over 30 million units in its first 3 years (2006-2009)
• The Xbox 360 sold 28 million units in its first 3 years (2005-2008)
• The PS4 has sold 53 million units in its first 3 years (2013-2016)
• The Xbox One has sold 26 million units in its first 3 years (2013-2016)

That works out to 58 million sales of Xbox and Playstation in the first 3 years last generation and 79 million sales of Xbox and Playstation in the first 3 years of this generation.

Yes, the Wii sold 67 million units in the first 3 years last generation to about 12 million Wii Us in the first 3 years, but using those numbers to try and paint the console market as a dying industry is incredibly disingenuous. The Wii numbers are an anomaly because people who don't play video games were buying the Wii and those same people didn't even know the Wii U existed. The removal from the market of those non-gamers that bought Wiis to bowl and play tennis is not remotely indicative of the health of the console industry.

Nothing on the Horizon: Zero Chance, man.
