The supposed merit is getting the jurors to realize the 4chan poster on trial is clearly part of some secretive internet hacker community and not just a regular guy. "Look! He has some secret language and knows all these crazy "means" (lololol at that typo in the transcripts), he's clearly an internet hacker and not a person like you and me!" This assumes that the jury has never heard of rickrolling or lulz, which feels so pervasive that everyone must have heard of it by now.

I'm not gonna bother getting in on that, my point was that the article talked about all the pranks spawned on the site, and how it capitalizes on the utilizing masses of people the way that big companies want the internet to do for them, and then is like 'btw they say racist things there', and was just a terrible article in general. Nothing good ever comes out of discussing 4chan.
