In your opinion. I'm 17 and I'm going with a bunch of my friends. Feels weird man, thinking of not even going.
Age Limit for Trick-Or-Treating?
Just from experience, when I hand out candy to anyone older than the age of 16 and they reach their hands into the candy bowl I feel like I'm getting robbed.
I stopped at 15 or 16, but I can see people a little older doing it. More than that then it just gets creepy.
Trick-or-treat is for kids, Id say high school is the cutoff. Best idea: Throw a damn party.
Food, music, games, costumes. Get your friends together and go to the local haunted house, corn maze, whatever you have. Decorate your own house complete with costumed friends and be the coolest house on the block for all the *kids* to come to you for candy. About the time candy stops being the motivating factor in anything you do is the time to stop trick-or-treat and start finding other ways to make it fun.
TBH, as an adult Halloween is my favorite holiday. Every year at a random friends house we decorate and have a great time scaring the kiddies(and giving out candies), throw a drunken pumpkin carving night the week before, have a few different parties the Halloween night, etc. Why go out knocking on people's door when you can have a much better time?
15. I turned away a group last year that was probably only two or three years younger than myself, and the fuckers weren't even wearing costumes.
If you can buy your own candy, you're probably too old. You better have an awesome costume if you're going to attempt it.
OP here.
Yeah, we aren't necessarily going door to door asking for candy. I mean we'll try to get some, but we just want to do some stupid shit like scare the kids in the streets. Like how older kids did to me when I was younger.
Most people in my high school are actually dressing up and going door to door.
Getting older, feels weird man.
if someone would go with me I'd do it at any age. I'm 27. Just wear a ghost outfit and go on your knees when you ring the bell. Use a kid's voice when saying trick or treat. Then rise up and walk away.
I'm 22, I'll fucking do it just for the damn candy.
I find it a little more weird when some old guy is handing out candy to little kids..
Once your balls drop. Can't you convince your friends to do something else that isn't stupidly inappropriate. At 18 I prefer to celebrate Halloween by turning up to my lectures wearing my lab coat and wolf mask.

"There's nothing wrong with that then... except if you're going to try to get some candy, I sure hope you'll be wearing costumes. Worse than the older kids trick or treating are the older kids trick or treating without bothering with a costume.
Also, if you're a petite chick, you can easily trick or treat into your 20s while still looking like you're just one of the kids. :)
If you're old enough to go to a party with drunk girls in slutty costumes than you're too old to go trick-or-treating. Why would you want to? Drunk chicks are way better than candy.
The next time you're allowed to go trick-or-treating is when you have to take your own children house to house.
As someone who gives out candy to anyone that comes by with a bag for it, I'd say the biggest difference is how many pieces we give out, and what we give. There's definitely a 'B' bowl for anyone over a certain age who's "dressed up" as their favorite athlete by wearing a jersey they got at the local Walmart.
The + to this is that so far we haven't been egged, tp'd, etc.
I stopped when I was 13-14, but as long as you do it ironically while you are in High School you can get away with it. But only in groups. A 17 year old just going out by himself is sad.
I personally think it's dumb that there's an "age limit". If they give you free candy they give you free candy and you got free candy (yay!) if not then oh well. Who cares what people think. I say go for it. Free candy is free candy!
Well I'm taking my nephew trick or treating and i WILL be bringing a pumpkin pail for myself as well haha!!! oh and im currently in my early twenties lol
I stopped after 17 I think. After that I would walk with my nephew and little sister and would wear a mask. If your serious about it then I think 17 is a good cut off if your over 17 and serious your a fucking.. jerk. Over 17 and with friends just dicking around going to like two houses to bullshit around is cool I guess. You know what, just keep going until you forget about it.
