" I'm an LDS member and we have a main focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ so I guess that counts. Yeah, right now I'm getting my way through Darksiders and Valkyria Chronicles which are pretty awesome right now. Though I do still play MW2 (yeah I know), main personal principle is to not get so worked up about it. "Dude! I'm also LDS! I'm playing a ton of StarCraft II right now. I also just bought Infamous and that's pretty good.
Christian Gamers on Giantbomb
It's really embarrassing to read through some of the bigotry in this thread directed at Christians, as it is totally unwarranted. All the OP wanted was to find other Christian gamers - yet, he gets a torrent of abuse from members of the community spitting all kinds of insults at him about his religion. I haven't posted that much on these forums, but this thread makes me somewhat glad, if this is the kind of attitude certain people have toward a religious [or other kind of] group.
I'm not a Christian, by the by. As if it mattered.

One could imply that Tommy Vercetii might have been Catholic, maybe." Isn't Grand Theft Auto against your Christian rules? I mean why would you play a game like that if you followed Christ? "
Well I know Tony Ciprina was from Liberty City Stories, you had to do hits from some priest.
I'm all for equal opportunity when it comes to harassment.
Gaming for me is a religion, and Haze is the Sh*t!
I should probably make a thread asking what kinds of games Spanish people play, because I personally wanted to know if people with a similar aspect to myself (like what the OP is doing) have different tastes from the average gamer for my own curiosity, and probably ask how they might have come about to liking it, just to make a discussion between said peers.
Also, I probably have to make a mention that I wouldn't mind to hear non-Spanish opinions, should non-Spanish people want to join in conversation, and come to understand potential common tastes that us Spanish people may or may not have. I would want to ask a question, whilst not secluding the rest of the community out of respect mainly, and allow both sides to also dive into what will hopefully be an interesting thread devoid of anything silly or of a derailing nature.
If you do not understand where I am going with this, you need to open your mind more and stop deriving nonsensical conclusions. Hell, even a moderator called you people out on this. Oh the internet...
ON-TOPIC: Catholic here, though hardly ever practice it (not much of a believer and more inherited it from the family), and I like really any genre of game except karaoke, sports or instrument games. The exception is racing, as that is technically a sport I guess, and I love racing games like Grid, Dirt and the Gran Turismo series.
Yeah, so I'm bumping the shirt (pardon my clothing) out of this thread. I'm a black man with Judaism as my religion. I'm also handicapped, having lost sight with my left eye. (I'm Sammy Davis Jr., your blast from the past) Therefore I have come here looking for other people like me to see what games they play and perhaps play some games with them (alas, I have to tell you that I don't play any games with any kind of depth. That is, I don't play games that are in 3D, they just don't do it for me, nor does Avatar. Games that are morally deep are okay with me, though. Albeit, you might have some trouble finding them in 2D).
Do you realize how ridiculous this is?
" Any question which begins "Are there any other X gamers" will not lead to a profitable discussion for anyone. Your X doesn't matter. Games are unifiers, not dividers. "Yes why single yourself out when you can be part of the hive mind? Identity traits are overrated.
Technically Im a Christian, my family are Protestant, but really I don't give a shit about it. I think for the most port religion is just stupid. I believe that being religious should have nothing to do with your choice in what you should play, after all even in the most gory, violent games all you are doing is pressing a few button to make some pixels move.

"That's an easy out. You're getting satisfaction from a simulation of violence. Just like when you watch porn, a girl isn't actually there getting covered in bee's wax (or whatever you're into) but you're getting a positive response out of seeing it. If you're raised to believe violence is morally wrong, you should have an issue getting satisfaction out of simulated violence. Which is why there are Christian-focused movie critics as well. They have their dogma, you have yours. That's the only difference. All they're asking is to respect their choices, and obviously someone who's not a Christian won't necessarily follow the logic but that's not the point. Just respect that they're viewing the world differently than you instead of presuming they're viewing the world wrong.
