I came from Gamespot and am wondering who else did. So far I like Giant Bomb a lot more. Anyone else come from Gamespot?
Did you come from Gamespot?
Yes, many did, but you'll probably get hounded for making this thread because it's been asked so many times before. Nobody likes acknowledging Gamespot all that much which is good, because the majority of this community cannot address their concerns in a civil manner anyways.
But welcome, and enjoy your stay :)
I came from Gamespot yes.
Followed both Jeff and Ryans blogs for a while and then the Podcast Arrow Pointing Down happened, then this site came and I've been here ever since that day.
Still read up on stuff on Gamespot though, I have nothing against the dudes there.

Oh yes i did. And since I joined GB (first day) Ive hardly been to GS. And I was an addict before it.
Yeah, i''m with Federik and Guiseppe. I used to visit gamespot a whole lot and after the incident I boycotted the site. Thankfully I stumbled upon GB, because I missed a few of those old gamespot employees.
yeah i did. from day one ive been here. i still go to gamespot but its honestly crap and always behind gb. this comunity is family :)
Yes. I still pop in over to Gamespot every once in a while, but find I don't have much use for it. I usually poke around here, 1up (which is where I went right after the Gamespot fiasco), and Game Rankings for a review aggregator. I didn't much like 1up (for a variety of reason) but find GiantBomb's smaller editorial staff more in line with the average console gamer than the other, larger sites.
Yep. Hadn't been following it for long but loved 'On the Spot' having discovered it and button mashing and all that. There were so many great personalities at GameSpot then with Gallup, Navarro, Jeff, Brad etc. and obviously a great community amongst the staff as well. Now Giantbomb has that same great fun sense of community among the staff which I think we all share in in some way. GameSpot just felt a bit like a hollow shell (slight exaggeration but you get the point) once they'd lost so many great core people around the time of Jeff leaving. They might regain that sense of community and that something special that I think Giantbomb now has but it will take some time.
Well I quit Gamespot long before GiantBomb started. A duder linked me to a GiantBomb video later on and I was like "Hey it's Jeff and the crew!" so then I stuck around.
I did come from Gamespot, but I wasn't a forum user all that much. I just loved the Hotspot and the reviews.
Then I traversed over here. I still check out Gamespot from time to time, just to check out some reviews of older games that I pick up (Playstation 1 stuff, etc), but Giant Bomb is my main homie right now.
Yeah, I think a majority of people here have probably came from Gamespot. Also, like others were saying, On the Spot used to be awesome. Every Friday after school the first thing I would do when I got home was go and watch On the Spot!
" yeah, gamespot was my go-to website, now its giantbomb! "Same. I didn't go to gamespot much after the incident, because almost everyone I liked had gone. Now they're just kind of nerdy. I used to go there for my gaming news, but after they changed the score of Modern Warfare 2 I took it out of my bookmarks entirely and haven't been there since.
I did not, I found the Bombcast one day and decided I support awesome, and decided to join as a result.
I never used the GameSpot forums. But I no longer visit their website or listen to their podcast, while I use Giant Bomb almost exclusively. So, the answer to your question is yes.
