Poll Did you draw this 'S'? (261 votes)

Yes 69%
No 31%

I'm talking about this:

Stussy S? Super S? Who knows.
Stussy S? Super S? Who knows.

Also, it would be interesting to hear where and when you drew it. For me: Australia in the 90s.

This thing is endlessly fascinating to me. From what I gather, people from all over the world drew this and no one seems to knows why...

Nope, but you're right. I saw that everywhere in school during the 90's in Canada. Lots of binders, that sorta thing.

Yep. US in the 90s. Not as much as others drew it (I swear, I think some kids did nothing BUT draw that damn thing), but I certainly did my fair share.

My doodles of choice were cubes and the Quake symbol.

Yes. I even used to link them together and make like super S chains.

Oh and New York in the 90's.

Hah. Knew what this was before even opening the thread.

Just something a friend showed me. Start with the six vertical lines and then add the middle diagonals, then the top and bottom, and then the ends. I dunno, it was fun. I always did the slanted ends.

Dunno if it was late 90s or 2000s. Canada.

I certainly didn't. But what I can tell from this thread, somewhere, in the 90's, people were putting some weird shit in the water.

I drew it too, early aughts for me. Its a good thing to draw. You draw two sets of three lines, then connect them. Feels good, man.

Seen and drawn both the straight and slanted edge versions in my earlier days. It hit the South West of England in the early 2000s. Where did it come from!? Could there be some sinister conspiracy behind its origin...

Yes, Sweden.

All the lines conform to edge and diagonal lines in a square notepad so it's hardly a mystery, and I remember drawing it in those specifically.

Yep, totally. I figured that's what this thread would be about before even opening it, haha. Chicago in the 90s, and possibly the early 2000s as I transitioned from elementary to middle school. I never knew what it was or why everyone drew it, but seeing people from all over the world in this thread respond with the same experience is just nuts.

Ireland in the 90s. I've no idea where it came from or what it means. It was just one of those things you saw on every bathroom wall and carved into tables in school and it was easy to replicate even for people like me who can't draw.

I learned from my older sister where she learned it in middle school. So propably early 2000's. She always said it was the Spartan's S but idk what spartans she was talking about? I would guess that trend in my area just associated itself with the Michigan State Spartans because we live in Wisconsin is Michigan is right next door.

Yeah I did in the 90's in Colorado, USA. Pretty sure it was just a fad and as it was easy to draw, anyone and everyone could do it. Or it has some gang meaning behind it? Who knows. I did the one with the slanted ends though, not straight across
