Films that made you cry. Even as a manly man of a man.
lol!
I remember I nearly fell asleep during romeo and juliet (the Di-crap-rio one) in english class back in secondary, and was called out for 'crying' lol.
thats funny! We watched a modern version of "merchant of Venice" in secondary school, (UK) and in the film someone was carrying a pigeon pie, like with pigeon heads sticking out. I was half asleep and absent mindedly said "oh, pigeon pie" and for 2 years everyone called me "pigeon pie" in an northern accent. Which in itself was odd, cos the school was in the midlands.
That's an awesome nickname haha.
Only nickname I had was Gordo, because my last name is Gordon, and Gordo means fat in spanish :\
To Kill A Mocking Bird. I don't really cry at sad films cuz there fictional characters, but real injustice really gets me + Gregory Peck is FUCKING AWESOME!
Oh and also Dances With Wolves, that was in a GCSE history clas, so I had to keep that under wraps.
"@Everyones_A_Critic: Aghh dude! Thats a new movie, spoilerise it for everyone who's not yet seen it why don't you? Damn."
I think we're thinking of different movies here. In the Name of the Father is from 1993 hahaha. And anyone who knows the true story it's based off of knows the ending. I didn't spoil anything.
Wow, how did that happen? O_o I meant to reply to Guardian about the new Star Trek movie.
Giantbomb is getting weirder and weirder lol, sometimes I think the sites alive and just posts whatever it wants o_o
I have a few movies that have made me quite tearful as the credits rolled. Recent movies that come to mind are...
- The Mighty (1998) was a movie about two boys who unite to become virtually one. Its end left me weepy for a good five minutes.
- The Waterdance (1992) was about a man who comes to terms with becoming a paraplegic after a car accident.
- Bridge to Terabithia (2007) was a film I thought was about a Lion, Witch and Wardrobe-like story but was more like the above mentioned The Mighty.
- King Kong (2005) I was shocked to find myself tearing up at the end of this movie. It really moved me in a way I did not expect. As a fan of the original, I was wary of a modern treatment, but it won me over completely.
- Penny Serenade (1941) is a classic "tear jerker" but with two stellar actors their talents bring the source material a step above. I know this is not a recent movie but it still gets me every time.
Gladiator, Braveheart, Fellowship of the Ring, Transformers,(I only cried during that because I was really drunk and thought that the sunset in the background was beautiful).
" What Dreams May Come. When he goes to Hell and his wife doesn't recognize him...and he can't save her...that shit hurts, man.Saving Private Ryan. At the end, when Pvt. Ryan looks at his wife in the graveyard and says "tell me I'm a good man, tell me I've lived a good life"...that shit hurts, man.Terminator 2: Judgment Day. When Arnold lowers himself into the molten metal at the end...that shit hurts, man. Those are the three that will guarantee tears."
weren't, "Hasta La Vista" Great Movie. I can't think of any because I haven't really watched any good one lately, but Seven Pounds almost got me.
That ending really sucked for him.
Yeah, Life is Beautiful was amazing I can't believe the lengths he went through to preserve his son's innocence.
" Life is Beautiful and Grave of the Fireflies. "
Up almost had me crying. For some reason, I always think about being a lonely old widower, alone in my large home that once supported a family. I can't even imagine having a constant partner for decades and having that person taken away in an instant. You're left to do the same old routine but without the most important part of your life.
I hope I die first...
Saving Private Ryan, at the end when the old fart says "Am I a good man?"
" Gladiator. The end of that movie is terribly sad. "
Forrest Gump and The Lion King. Honorable mention, The Godfather Part II ending made me pretty sad, but no tears.
I'm probably going to be called a sissy for saying this but, Marley and Me mad me cry. The only reason is that I have dealt with the ending of the movie in my real life. Watching it remember me of that tragic memory of the past. *sadface* Also WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back, I remember an episode of Pokemon when Ash wanted to leave Pikachu live with the wild Pikachus and that made me sad to. DAMN YOU POKEMON!!

Pursuit of happiness was damn good.
Will Smith is amazing in it, especially around the end.
Made me go from a macho, macho man to a sobbing 14 year old in an instance.
Carlito's Way, the ending..
Bambi..when her mother dies..
Lost In Translation, when he kisses her and whispers in her ear...
