all this damn dubstep via giantbomb etc keeps creeping into my abstract electronic stuff ,
glitchstep?
I'm sorry but I hate it. I hate all of it... BOOP DE BOOOP BOPOPOPOP WUBWUBUBUBUWUBUWBUBWUB Is not music. It's noise. Theres nothing wrong with noise of course, I just feel like its my duty to the world and the people of my generation to inform them of the difference.
As someone who will actually listen to a lot of different kinds of electronic music, even I can't stomach this.

There is nothing in that song that's overabrasive enough to qualify as noise. I might as well listen to Merzbow for that shit.
Glitch is ok to listen to but nothing has been making me impressed.
I understand the negative connotation wub wub and shit has been established but it doesn't mean everything including that element is a bad thing. Fuck Skrillex.
Glitch thread?

Noise isnt music man so its pretty subjective. If you were talking about gangster rap or even classical music, maybe .... but you're not. You are talking about a sound orgy and calling it experimental music.

You're right, I don't know much about music, but this is just noise. A bunch of digital clinking and clanging. It seems like I'm not the only one who doesn't like it either.
Oh, and they need to experiment with something that sounds pleasurable or something. This might be cool as a ten second introduction to a song, but not as an entire song.
Damn, now I feel like a cranky old fart or something, but
That was completely awesome. Glitchfolk (a la The Books) is great as well.Glitchstep is not real... glitch-hop on the other hand is kinda rad
And OP, that wasn't bad at all. At first it sounded like it was unfinished but then by the 2 minute mark I was pretty into it. I've been listening to a lot of glitch and chiptunes myself lately.
The Arkanoid theme, for example, has been stuck in my head for days at this point:
@Jrinswand: thanks . it actually isnt finished , was just an unmastered recording i did the night before posting , but i liked the direction it went in .. enjoyed "exploring the space" .. and yes that arkanoid theme is BALLER
@Dexter_Morgan_: .. your expecting something experimental to be a set thing , by the very nature of its name its going to be new or unique , or undesirable .. of course i avoided using the term music for the longest possible time , just because i knew people like you would jump on it as a chance to be like HAH ITS NOT MUSIC ! .. thats like saying videogames are not art because they defy YOUR limited preconceptions of what those things should be.
blah blah blah .. i wish i was half as pretentious as the people who seem fit to throw bland insults around as criticism , sad to see only a handful of people in this thread are even aware of the existence of this kind of music.
(oh yeah and i didnt sleep so well , so im a bit cranky )

I'm not expecting anything out of anything bro! You seem to think I am attacking you for your taste in noise, but i'm not. If this somehow makes you feel better or inspires you in some way then by all means continue doing what makes you happy! I'm just letting you know what I hear when I hear that... stuff. You posted here for critique right? That's what I was giving you sort of... I just feel like its a bunch of random technocratic sounds fused into one cluster fuck. Theres not much more I can give you because thats all it is. I listened all the way to the five minute mark and quit because of the headache I was starting to get....
TAKE A TYLENOL YOU CRANKY BITCH. :P
@Dexter_Morgan_: well it calms down past the 5 minute mark , and its a 30 minute track so honestly if you want me to take your "critique" seriously , then try listening to it all .. you dont have to tho hehe.
that being said "I just feel like its a bunch of random technocratic sounds fused into one cluster fuck." is a perfectly valid response , and mabye im justc picking on you since you cared to actually respond directly , but the real thing that set me off is that people seem offended that i created this, or that they think i have some expectations or delusions about it being some sort of accessible musical thing .. i guess im just still naive in thinking that the internet will "get" my unspoken ideas.
so yeah .. if you dont like it , cool , i didnt make it for human beings anyway
@envane: To be fair, I did skip through it before listening to it nonstop for 5 minutes. I honestly doubt anyone listened to the entire thing (not because its bad, but because its freaking 30 minutes long!) What I can tell you is that I appreciate some of the detail in it. The tone and pitch seems to get higher and increase as the track continues. I think it drops lower every 5 minutes if im not mistaken.
You should understand one thing though... you DID post this on a gaming website.... You shouldn't be too surprised by the response which is actually more civil than I would have expected. If I picked up a tambourine and banged it on my head for 30 minutes while screaming lady blacksmith mambazo in a deep voice, I wouldn't expect much people to "get" it either. That's because it doesn't make sense to anyone but myself. Anyways... have fun doing this stuff. I'm sure if there are Nickleback fans in the world, there ought to be glitchstep fans too. Not comparing the two, jus sayin.
@Dexter_Morgan_: Psh, that's not noise. Now this, this is noise.
