@Titus: I've seen clips of Cosmos here and there, and I love it (it is a bit before my time). Also, Delenn from Babylon 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkhx3dGKz3k) uses that quote, though her little speech there is a bit too metaphysical for my tastes.
Not sure if it's been mentioned but I believe the current leading theory is that the rate of expansion of the universe is actually accelerating.
As for how I feel? That's billions of years into the future and I don't believe humans will be around long enough to see the end. Actually nothing that humanity ever does or creates will likely last that long. I just hope no aliens stumble upon the messed up planet we leave behind...(that's a joke)
my ashes will have ceased to exist when this happens. my mind cant really understand what billions of years is, so i dont give a crap. this also reminds me of Oz, when Idzik kills Kareem Said for this same reason

No matter how far we advance, no matter what we do, in the end none of it will matter, and everything that has ever existed will cease to exist as the universe collapses in on itself.
The end of the universe is hypothetical, whereas our own individual demise is quite certain. One should concern oneself with THAT, not some pseudo scientific fantasy.
