How much money will IM3 make this weekend?
Well since no one has said it yet: $775 MILLION
I agree.
@evilnights: Oblivion is mostly under the surface good, like if you like 2001: A Space Odyssey you'll like it more, and if you like really neat aesthetics; I'm sure Iron Man 3 is more entertaining and much funnier than Oblivion. Big thing with Oblivion is it has the daily routine type of stuff from 2001 that is extremely hard to nail in a Sci Fi picture but when you do it immerses you in the world so completely that you'll follow wherever the film wants you to go thereafter.
Also the british chick's character gave off a serious Truman Show wife vibe which is so damn awesome and rare
Ha, I'd originally read your earlier post as you'd seen Iron Man 3 and assumed it was better than Oblivion, then that you'd seen both and preferred Oblivion, and now... you've seen Oblivion and perhaps think you'd like Iron Man 3 more?
I liked both, but you're right about Iron Man 3 being more immediately entertaining; it really had to be if we're honest. I found Oblivion satisfying, but remember it feeling like it took forever to get into gear. Actually, despite it being only a few weeks I don't seem to remember enough, so I dug up my tweets on the subject:
Oblivion is the worst adaptation I've seen! It's like they never even heard of Elder Scrolls!
Then...
Despite the horrendous future shown in Oblivion, we can all take solace in knowing NASA will bring back the worm logo at some point.
And finally...
They also found a unique way of getting around no one wanting to work with Tom Cruise anymore.
Evidently I think I'm really funny sometimes.
@evilnights: Sadly I've been denied in seeing Iron Man 3 two nights in a row now; we'll see if it pans out tomorrow, I mean I guess I could go solo but the last movie I did that with was the Dark Knight, needless to say it'd be hard to top that one. I think Oblivion is most likely a superior film from technical and in depth storytelling aspects, but on the surface I could see liking Iron Man 3 more. Oblivion is likely a film I will own in the future and Iron Man 3 is not.
$208 million. I think it has a shot at passing Avengers. And now I am off to spend my life savings on Iron Man 3 tickets to ensure I win those stickers!
220 million. Going high!
It's been shit in the theaters lately, this is the first really big name blockbuster in awhile. I think its gonna clean up.
$192,000,000 or something. I really liked it, but I bet it won't do as good as Avengers the opening weekend. More superheroes, more money.
More than five dollars.
FUCK BRAD 2 DOLLARS!
A metric fuckton.
The realist number
$133,333,330
You son of a... How dare you play Price is Right with my guess =P
Anyway, voting should probably be closed because it's already made close to $70m. http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=ironman3.htm
Shockingly, it's already made $413m worldwide while Iron Man 2 only made $624m worldwide in its entire run. I liked the first movie, but the 2nd movie was such a pile of crap that I thought this one wouldn't have done as well or would have been on par with 2's stats.
this is my legit answer, ridiculous as it may be.
You stole my answer.
