It has recently come to my attention that there is no word in the current english dictionary that rhymes with the word "Purple".

The closest is "Curple", but that word hasn't been commonly used since quite some time ago and is no longer in any modern dictionaries.

So, care to dispute?
Know of any other words like this?

@Snail: That article has way too few references. Did someone do all that research themselves?

Many of the words that are supposed to have no rhyme are myths. Purple is one of those myths. Both Hirple and Curple rhyme with it. And while I don't have access to a copy right now to check, I'm pretty sure the Oxford English Dictionary (which is THE definitive english dictionary) still lists both Hirple and Curple.

According to Merriam-Webster.com, those words do exist but you have to pay for a premium version of the dictionary in order to see the definitions. How lame is that?

*Edit: Hurple apparently is to walk with a limp. Curple is the ass of a horse essentially.*

Absolutely. It really breaks my heart that a lot of people in America (including Jeff) seem to hate Steven just because they only knows him as "that British guy from Little Big Planet". He deserves better than that, god damn it!

What about Squirtle? It's a Pro-Noun for the pokemon which looks like a turtle but apparently squirts...something....or whatever. It kind of rhymes too.

Well, I always think of him as the horny dude from Cold Comfort Farm, but that's just me. And we would know more about your TV shows if they actually showed them here, it's not exactly 'our' fault.

Relax, I'm not blaming you guys, I'm just saying that it's kind of a shame he doesn't get more international recognition for the stuff he does that's actually good.

Well, according to the Academy Award-winning rap trio Three Six Mafia in their hit song "Stay Fly", "purple" rhymes with "yurple".

The exact quote is "So purple, p-purple, p-purple and swallow it down with the yurple, y-yurple, y-yurple, it's going down".

How come colors don't rhyme? There's also like.. orange. Monkey Island 3 was educational.
