Not A Lot Of Fanboyism Going On Here

 Over the past years I noticed that there is not a lot of fanboyism going on on GB and I am glad that this is the case. There are a lot of sites where it only takes one or two posts until the first fanboy posts pop up on a certain topic, let say a multi-platform game. It's annoying and nonconstructive. Maybe the alignment colors prevent us from feeling the need to express our feelings towards our favorite brand in every single threat or it's just that the whole community is... cooler than on other websites.  Just recently I was still going with green and I do think that the 360 is a pretty good system, however I mostly played on old school consoles lately.
Anyway, props for the whole community for being open minded.

The GB community is a lot more mature than people on IGN, GT or Gamespot, so that's a given. However, the consoles has become more and more the same that there's really no point in arguing "who's the best console".

Honestly, there is still quite a bit of fanboyism...but it seems like it's mostly just a few certain members.

Well, I own a 360, ds, psp, and ps3....I think they are all pretty fucking bad, but each has it's redeeming qualities....except wii, and I don't want to play handhelds.

There are a few PC fanboys, which I'm fine with, because they are the only good kind of fanboys. Because we all know PC is the only real platform.

You can't have it both ways.  Do you want a small knit community that respects each other, or a large vibrant community with tons of assholes.  Choose wisely.

Its more subversive but it exists. People preemptively attacking phantoms who may or may not exist with "nb4 ____" comments because they can't fathom the idea of a legitimate person not liking what they like. Plenty of infants here.

There's also not a whole lot of videogame talk here either.

I used to be a massive Sony fanboy, and I probably still am at heart, but, after realising that I probably enjoyed my Gamecube equally to my PS2 (SSBM rivalling Timesplitters: Future Perfect for Hours soaked in) and the fact that it was really unnecessary, I stopped.

Not surprising since we have so many intelligent discussions going on here, such as "Should I break up with my gf?" and "How do I stop letting my roommate treat me like shit?".

With good games on all consoles i don't see how you can argue one is better than the other
(i may be realizing the obvious but turning three hundred and sixty degrees and walking away doesn't make sense)

It still goes on, but there's a good chunk of the community that take pride in being less fanboyish than other forums.  

It's just most of us here are pretending to be objective and mature about it trying to differentiate ourselves from other forums.
