Actually in all seriousness paper does win. A sufficiently large piece of paper envelops the entire rock and wraps around it which makes it impossible for the rock to "break through it" a it is literally covered entirely in paper. The rock unable to escape loses.

Now I need to find a different thread to suck fun out of.... hmmm.

@mordukai: "The point of the game is that each of the 3 options has a completely fair chance to win or lose. You can play it once, or a hundred times, and nobody will ever have an unfair advantage. It's that rule that makes the game, makes it playable to people of any age and any language, and makes it work fairly for everyone every time. People just use rock, paper and scissors as the 3 options because that's what they're used to. If you can think of a better set then go nuts! As long at they each have a chance to win or lose against the others then the game's still there."

^ Would've been a great answer.

Although "I had no choice but to agree with her" is a really fucking hilarious thing to picture.

I don't have a problem with the rules, I just think there needs to be more violence in the contest. The penalty for defeat should always be a head injury.

The only way to play rock paper scissors is that if you win with rock, you punch the person in the shoulder, if you win with paper you get to slap the back of the other person's hand as hard as you can, and if you win with scissors you get to two-ginger slap the inside of their wrist.

Holy fuck that's a long run-on sentence

Anyone got any tips for high level RPS play?

I tend to go with the CC strategy, in where you pick the same as your opponent's previous turn. It's great for the first new rounds, after which I will switch to SaR exclusively - it's all about mind games you see.

My W:L ratio is rather high and I have won a few tournaments like this.

Would you rather be hit in the dick by a rock, or have a papercut on your penis hole?

Paper wins.

Paper covers rock not breaks rock. There for paper absorbs rock and gains it's power like kirby.

It is actually enough paper to cover every rock on the planet seven times, so paper wins. Also: Pretty relevant.
I find this hard to believe.

"paper" wins over rock because it functions like a block. it captures the rock and renders it useless.

Though, if you lose at rock, paper, scissors then just say "miss" and pretend it's an RPG. therefore you win because your agility stats are higher.

Personally I'm a fan of the more simple system of 1, 2 and 3 - 1 beats 2, 2 beats 3 and 3 beats 1.

It is simple to understand and to do. And we get rid of the sometimes logic-jumping iconography of rocks, papers and scissors.
