Virtual-On Actually On XBLA Next Week
I've got plenty of love for crazy stylized gladiatorial robots, but by the time I actually played a Virtual-On game, dual joysticks were a standard rather than a novelty, let alone polygonal graphics.Uh, yeah, I don't think you can compare a PS360 pad with these babies... Though they do make for a decent home conversion that you couldn't have back in the day unless you purchased the awesome home joysticks you still can't compare to a PS360 pad. Though the games still played great on the Saturn and its sequel on the Dreamcast without them, the experience is just so much better with.
Besides, there's still no game that compares to the gameplay of Virtual On, it's still unique, and AWESOME.
VOOT was great, but I imported it for Dreamcast years ago. I just wish Sega would put more effort into their ports. I'd love to get a new VO, but other than online play (which is a big deal) it doesn't seem like there are many new features in this one.
I think complaining about $15 for the sake of being $15 is always dumb. Complain that the game isn't enough value, not the price. If the value isn't important to you, then you're just being dumb.
Damn, and I wanted to create a Dual-Lever Piloting page. Sez so right there on the cabinet.
If they can make a home version of twin-sticks, I will hold out some hope that someone will give us a PS3 compatible wheel with infinite spin so I can
play some Championship Sprint and "Iron Man" Stewart Super Off-Road the way it was meant to be.
You know what else comes out on the 29th on XBLA? Banjo-Tooie. I think I'll be spending my 1200 points on that instead.
The Saturn had Virtual On Cyber Troopers. I thought that's what the XBLA game is, but everyone keeps calling it Oratorio Tangram, which had a Dreamcast version. I thought OT looked a lot better than this but I guess that's nostalgia memory...
And yeah, that was a great demo, you could choose all of the mechs and play VS against the AI or split screen ^_^
OMG I remember going all the way to southend-on-sea and thinking the best thing there was that arcade machine (and they had punchmanina.) But 1200 is a bit much
why do guys say the points when telling how much it costs, why not just tell us how much that really means?
