Anyways, what do I think is the best song of this year?  There's a lot.  The one I've listened to the most would be "Mexican Sun" by Chevelle.  This album had that raw quality like they had back on Point #1, lacks the pitch correction that was on Vena Sera, and still holds some of the modern rock ideas that they presented on This Type of Thinking.  This song in particular just has a really eerie feeling with it, a bit of a lingering sense, and yet it's quite powerful.  The guitar tone is incredible, the bass hits so hard, and the drum part is simple but still has a complexity to it that fits the song well. 
 
Then again, though...I think ALL of the songs from Sci-Fi Crimes are the best songs of the year.  There wasn't another album that grabbed my attention the way it did.
