Ok am i missing something. It seems like when i go places, watch TV and even on these boards that people are really starting to turn on obama and they dont like him anymore?! Umm why?! Its funny how a few months ago  everyone said they wanted obama to give "specifics" on his plans and now in the last month or so he has been giving a lot more specifics on is stances on the issues and they are really good stances. But the last couple weeks I have seen a lot of obama hate going on all of a sudden.. I mean whats the deal?! This worries me because i couldnt stand 4 more years of communism oops i mean REPUBLICAN rule (Freudian slip up lol) and if mccain gets elected with that wacko palin im moving to canada or England.

Mccain hasnt gave any specifics on his economic plans and Alan Greenspan himself said mccain's economic plan would be disastorous. so whats the deal, why the hate all of a sudden? Am i missing something?

I think many people realized Obama is just like every other politician... he was almost flawless up until he picked Biden.  After that, he just started going downhill.

These things happen all the time.

Because

A) People realized Obama is just like every other Democrat
B) he's been becoming an old grumpy dude (at least in the media).

I think it is because 1. Hilary is no longer there to hate on

2. People realized that all he does is talk about change and hope, but really has few good ideas

3. Universal health care is leading to a socialist nation, which takes away freedom= not good.

4. People love Sarah Palin.

I honestly dont think people love sarah palin as much as the media might hope.. For example I go to a church called newspring with roughly 2000 members and someone there looks a lot like palin and my pastor made the joke today saying "and i want everyone to welcome Sarah palin to our congregation, doesnt she look just like her"  and the audience just sat there in a awkward silence and 2 seconds later my pastor said "wow tough crowd, i guess we have a democratic congregation" keep in mind this is in a Christian church where she should have a lot of support and not even they like her

To me, it's not even the people who love Palin.  It's the sheep that will follow whatever the hell looks the most interesting, regardless of the consequences.  This applies to both campaigns.

The funny thing is he relates communism to republicans. Do you even know what communism is? Communism is related to socialism which is public health care, social security, and public works, which the democrats (including Barack Obama) cannot get enough of.

Because people can't form their own intelligent opinions. They listen to their friends/parents/teachers/etc. and take those peoples opinions as their own. Whether its McCain or Obama bashing, it's all just a practice in ignorant futility. Listen to each candidates points and decide which is better in your opinion. Then when said opinion is formed, present it AS an opinion so people will respect it as you should respect theirs. Sorry I'm just plain sick of people at the moment.

I dont like Obama nor McCain. I think that people have a bad choice, they have Obama on one hand with his Zionist buddy Biden and McCain on the other with Palin as Israels bitch. America, vote, pro israel or pro israel? As for Obama, i think people have realised hes a man of loose words and to be honest, has no idea what the fuck hes talking about, not that McCain is any better, the other week i saw an interview, McCain was saying: "I will chace Osama Bin Laden to the ends of the world, to the depths of hell", honest i was laughing, i hope he wasnt serious.

Why do you Americans think Universal Health Care=Communism? Most countries that are under a democracy are Universal Health Care and well better because of it, not to mention that the country isn't under a Iron Curtain, so get it out of your system Americans!!

Only idiots in American are anti-universial health care...which according to the Gallup polls today accounts for...47% of the population. Its really funny how the rightards equate socialism with communism...totally different. It's also quite funny that people who are anti-socialism are for things like social security...I mean ask any anti-universial health care politician (from either party) if they'd do away with social security (guess what? Seniors vote OFTEN...there's no chance we'd piss them off).

I think most of the swinging opinion is due to the fact that American politics feature two parties that are 90% identical. You've got to give it to the republicans though...they're simply better spinmasters. Truely they are the masters of removing a single comment from it's context and blowing it out of proportion...just look at the pig w/ lipstick incident. If you hear the words that are on either side of the comment, you'll realize that it has nothing to do with sexism, women or anything other than McCain's recycling Regan/Bush/Bush's failed economic policies.

I think one thing has been made very clear by McCain/Palin: If they win, we ARE going to war with someone (someone new that is, we'll continue our current wars too).

3. I love how the communism scare of the last century still hasn't worn off in America. Socialism is a good thing. Let it get out of control and its as dangerous as any other ism. I don't know how anyone can think that health care for everyone is a bad thing.

Placing your trust in corporations is far worse. While the government is prone to corruption, corporations begin corrupt because its about profit. I'd rather not place my health in the hands of a private company, whose job is to screw me out of getting treatment.

This goes for any social program.

4. Palin's abuse of power as the governor of Alaska should be enough to disqualify her from any higher office. But as a bonus why not remind you of:
-against abortion even in cases of rape or incest.
-huge lack of experience
-doesn't know what the Bush doctrine is
-has the most remedial understanding of  world events and foreign policy
-is merely a political tool to try and sway the Hillary voters
-McCain is old (I know it has little to do with Palin, except if he croaks, she is in the most powerful seat in the world.)

The list goes on. People shouldn't love Palin, they should be afraid of what she could bumble into.

I'm not one for politics really but it's been strange the last two weeks over here in England - we were all comfortable hearing about how well Obama was doing and how the public consensus seemed to put him in the lead and then Palin was appointed and suddenly change.

Now I'm not in America, I don't know about all the news. I don't know all the details. But I have to admit it seems pretty shallow that on the SURFACE public opinion seems to have changed over the appointment of a woman who's basically George Bush in a pencil skirt.

But like I said, I know fuck all about politics and I'm not even in USA so I only get a quarter of the story.

I find it funny that when Americans think of communism, they think of an evil overlord.

Democracy is failing, the last 10 elections proves it. As long as the media can control what you hear about, the votes will always go to either one of two really bad politicians. No body seems to care about elections till the last couple of months..

That was quite a good video.  Whenever people talk about socialism or communism, I always think of this song from a HIGHLY liberal musician that I just love.  Randy Newman - The World Isn't Fair

Whoa there. Don't question the American view on socialism and their fancy "freedom". They will eat you, then quote Franklin.

Fact: The US are the only industrialized, civilized, wealthy nation in the world that has not embraced universial healthcare. Obama will not be able to change that. It's a mind thing, and it's deeply rooted in two hundred years of americanism.

And here I was thinking the media was busy giving Obama his daily handjobs. Seriously, I subscribe to the TIme and the Economist. Both of them have had a consecutive article on Mccain and Obama. Both of them were praising Obama and bashing Mccain for the exten he's changed to since the '00 election.

damn he was a good speaker. he could be talking about how its good to eat dog shit, and i'd almost believe him, (not to discredit this video). thats a very good video thanks man.

to the topic: its because he deserves it, do you actually think he's jesus-like and theres nothing you can come up with thats outright bad about the guy, because i could almost write a book by now. make up for the 2 autobiographies that douche already made. people derserve to here differing opinions and it would be wrong to only talk good about the guy.

You do know that Obama is closer to communism than McCain is right? Obama wants more government regulation and wealth redistribution.  Communism is a far left wing idea.

It's easy to write off the idea when its benefits don't apply to you, but when confronted with those who it would help, you're left with a foot in your mouth and a fist up your ass, most of the time. Reagan may have been a good speaker, but he leaves out the thing that only Martin Luther King has ever included: people are getting left behind in a big way. If you make digital broadcasting mandatory, but not socialized health care, you have failed. Government should be there to help in a crisis such as this. They wouldn't have to if they kept the motherfucking economy afloat, and my dad wasn't laid off due to construction being minimal, while my mom makes shit tips because no one can eat out at restaurants because of lack of funds.

I am the closest thing to below the standards of living you may meet on these boards. Hi. I want some goddamn healthcare.

Everybody does and it is.  Let every civilized country in the world have a popular vote whether to disestablish universal health care. Nobody would, even though the vast majority is not dependant on it.

it takes away freedoms and this country was founded on the strong beliefs that governments should remain limited and keep its big snot nose out of things like this. history has shown the more it stuck its nose into our lives, the worse our lives have gotten. time to go back to the constitution I SAY!!!

There's this freedom again. What freedom exactly are you giving up? Why are gladly giving up your "freedom" to run around naked in the fields and shoot eagles, but refuse to let a government make sure all of it's citizens have general health care? Where is your goddamn "founding of the country on freedom of liberty" when the party who wants to make gay marriages and pregnancy terminations illegal gets 55% of the votes? The US government is already responsible in some form or another for 45.1% of health spending. The US government spent GDP on health care than every other nation. It already has its "big snot nose" deep in "things like this!", the only thing it's lacking is a proper system for basic healthcare for everyone, so that nobody has to stay at home because he can't afford to go see a doctor. How sick and twisted is that?
Stop fucking repeating the things you have been indoctrinated with and think for yourself.

Yea...all the world doesn't embrace universal health care...except the major industrial ones.
Have a look at this map:

As far as why the country was founded...if I remember correctly one of the major issues was taxiation without representation. Basically a bunch of rich, slave owning white guys didn't want to pay thier taxes!

But you have no right to take it by force. Yeah it might suck that your parents are poor but its not someone elses responsibility to take care of you. You have legitimate right to have a go at the government for causing inflation though, as does everyone, but it hits the poorest hardest

-McCain is old (I know it has little to do with Palin, except if he croaks, she is in the most powerful seat in the world.)

The list goes on. People shouldn't love Palin, they should be afraid of what she could bumble into."
abuse of power??? why because se gots some dumb bastard fired, yeah, he fuckin tasered his ten year old step son- hes that restarded.
and im tired of people saying things in your number 4 like that about Palin when youre probably just as dumb voting for zero experience Obama

I've vowed to not take part in political debates - so I won't.

But I want to say that many people in here could do some good to hold their tounge because the only thing that seems to come out of it are a) insults b) slander c) profanity.

There's been very few internet debates in which the primary topic of discussion was the actual issues and policies, not irrelevant facts. For instance, it's true that Hamas did endorse Obama, but that's irrelevant because Obama didn't ask for or accept the endorsement and Hamas later pulled it and then attacked Obama. And yes, there are some facts about Palin that are irrelevant as well.

That's all.

Because people have realized that you can't win the presidency on "Hopes and Dreams."

Because people are cancer. Are we really mammals? I say no. It should be like The Onion where they are both dropped into a jungle with a knife and one has to kill the other. The winner gets to become the new president.

yeah, we're against for good reason. and nobody in the world is "embracing" it. make it sound like the dancing in green field with flowers with universal healthcare.
it takes away freedoms and this country was founded on the strong beliefs that governments should remain limited and keep its big snot nose out of things like this. history has shown the more it stuck its nose into our lives, the worse our lives have gotten. time to go back to the constitution I SAY!!!
"
You're so right. Universal healthcare takes away American's freedom of Disease, freedom of living with a broken leg, Freedom of good health only to those who can afford it. And of course the Freedom that America was founded on, the freedom of going bankrupt after the hospital takes all your money for all those keemo treatments.

Yeah, universal healthcare is a terrible thing.
