Any pizza with only 1 topping is not a good pizza. I generally get 6 (although there is a 22 topping pizza I like to get sometimes if I want to blow a load of cash). I don't eat any pizza with under 3 toppings.

22 toppings? When I get 4 toppings on a pizza I start to feel like there's too much on it. I can't imagine 22.
For me, Pizza relies on a trinity - good cheese, good meat, and mushrooms. Anything less and it can eff off! Although if I'm sharing it with friends I'm willing to sacrifice the mushrooms as not everyone likes them. But for me, You can't have anything less than those three.
@Mechanical_Ape: I feel like onion, mushroom, pineapple and ground beef are required for any pizza. Once you start adding in other veggies, bacon, ham, salami, pepperoni, grilled chicken and italian sausage it adds up. Four of the toppings are different kinds of cheese. A 22 topping pizza is a whole different experience than a standard pizza so as long as you are expecting something different then it's not overwhelming.
Either meatball or pepperoni. Neither are my favorite topping but if it is only one allowed then they stand alone the best. My favorite topping is Italian Sausage but I need another topping to complement it like onions and green peppers or banana peppers. What the fuck is with the choices? Do you work at California Pizza Kitchen? I am not against gourmet pizza because I love the Gyro and Eggplant Parmesan pizza my local pizzaria serves up but tuna, almonds, and brie ?

You would hate one of my favorite pizza places. Max of three toppings on any pizza. Maybe try getting a pizza with a good crust/cheese/sauce and you won't need as many toppings.
@mosespippy: I like to be able to taste every topping. Once you start getting a lot of different toppings, that becomes much harder to do. Also, I have rather plain tastes I suppose. My two favorite pizzas only have 2 toppings on them: pepperoni and jalapeno, and Italian sausage and green peppers.
Pepperoni isn't necessarily my absolute favourite topping but it's definitely in the top three and when you're limited to just one it's the one to go for.
@Mechanical_Ape: The deli meats tend to stack so biting into it is like biting into something like a cold cut trio. Do you limit your sandwiches to so few toppings as well?
@beej: I just don't really like any breads or products with dough that rises (it doesn't take much yeast before I can taste it). It's basically filler where there could be flavour. Most pizzerias want their dough to fill up the customer as much as possible because it's the cheapest part of the product to produce. If you fill up on the bread you don't need to spend as much on toppings. The only bread products I like are tortillas and pita bread. But I'm weird and have specific tastes. I don't like chicken because the meat is plain. Stuff like wings are no good because all the seasoning is on the skin and the meat is still bland. The only chicken I eat is skinless and seasoned with spices. I'm also particular about my coffee. I find it's easy to fuck up food, which makes me glad I learned how to cook when I was a kid.
