People on Ship 10 and those just joining PSO2

Since ship 2 is full and that most english speaking players have decided to join ship 10 instead, I thought a thread for those in that situation or those thinking of joining PSO2 (ship 10) might be useful.

I think I'll jump into Ship 10. But what blocks are the English crowd in?

We could start a new group called the Luchadeers. Maybe The Hardcore Daves.

[Edit] Bumped.org mentions an English community in Ship 10 Block 20. I think I'll start there.

I have a character on Ship 2 but when I join its mostly Japanese names I see on blocks 20-22 (assuming I can get in). Are there enough GB people on Ship 10 to delete my, low level, character on Ship 2 to join you guys?

Ship10 is where all the people not cool enough to be in ship 2 with the pso vets and jeff hang out and do there thing.

Glad some more GB users are on ship 10. I'll probably be on later tonight. I'm still low level 4 or 5 so it would ne nice if some people could show some of us new PSO2 players the ropes. Playing PSO before only goes so far.

This game will come out in English at some point. So why not just wait? I could understand if you wanted to learn Japanese or something, but wouldn't it be other-wise more enjoyable to have your native language included in some fashion?

@QuantumPilot: Like most new releases, some of the appeal is playing when its new. Besides, its free.

@Jackel2072: good luck, took me about 15 hours to download, install, then download the patch. The patch is huge so plan to download the game twice basically.

@MrOldboy: Thanks man. yeah so far downloading the base game has been going pretty smooth (maybe about 3 hours) we'll see once i get to the patch.

There's a novelty and a challenge that people enjoy from playing it. It's still in the same spirit as importing Japanese games and modding your consoles to play imports. It does make me feel a bit special, honestly, like I've jumped off the deep end (no-one else I know dares to do this). There's a satisfaction in the discovery and puzzling out the parts you don't understand.

Personally, this is temporary and casual fun until the game releases in English. I'd prefer to understand everything, but it's nice to have access to see changes on the game first-hand on what is ostensibly the "primary" version of the game. It's also a good stress-test for my Japanese.

I've finished the first couple solo quests and did the group area type quest. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm not bad at the combat.

I've heard that the English localization, if it happens, will likely just be a patch that you apply to your game. So theoretically I could use my existing account still afterward. Does that sound right?

Had to go to Ship 10 cause the game wouldn't let me make a character anywhere else. And yeah, most of the English speakers are on block 20-23.

Just got to the Caves and level 15. Ship 10 (Block 21 usually, as 20 is often full). Character name is Ewy.

Looks like the English speaking influx is going to cause ship 10 to be locked as well (source). The game is down for maintenance until 3am eastern, this is in the maintenance notes on bumped.org:

• To change the number of blocks on each ship in response to the number of concurrent connections and premium block status.
• To set a limit to the number of characters that can be made on Ship 10.

There’s also an English community on Ship 10, so if you are new you should try to join them as quick as possible since Ship 1 through 5 are all full.

So, if you're on the fence maybe get on it!

well this sucks. i just get logged on and begin to make my character when, the servers go down for maintenance... also this game does not like my graphics card it would seem. crazy artifacting all over the damn place. i really hate my 560 ti.

Right, I forgot how common some names can be. My SEGA ID is wemibelec90, just like my username here. That might be easier for people to find.

Really? Cutting access to ship 10? Ugh. So much for playing with my friends.

I created a new guy on ship 10 last night, tried to get a buddy on ship 2 with me and found that it had stopped taking registrations so had to pony up for some Arc points and make a second guy.

Yeah it looks like practically all ships had their capacity limited as of last night's maintenance. It might be another one-two week for SEGA adjusts it again, but they've been doing maintenance more frequently than a weekly basis so the issue may be addressed even sooner than that.

This is probably demonstrating to SEGA that PSO2 is becoming really popular even beyond the shores of Japan, if anything. I mean they even announced it's coming stateside; still, though, I feel like they should at least try to get it translated a little sooner.

I finally get the time to play this game, and the primary ships for the english speaking community are both full. Well, I guess I'll wait until I can either get into ship 2/10, or until another english community steps up.

@Ravenlight: So, I saw that you sent me a message. So I clicked and stuff, and then there was a menu with you, and I did some more clicking, and then your name disappeared, and now I'm scared. Did I broked it?

If playing this game doesn't teach me Japanese in the next week, I quit.

I just got into PSO2 as well, I'll probably be playing this weekend on ship 10 if anyone is willing to show me the ropes

Did they ever fix the terrible gameguard issue that caused versions of WIndows 7 to stop being genuine? I haven't followed up on this in forever.

I just made on ship 10, but I'm playing on Vita; is everyone on here just playing the PC version?

Do we have duders on any other ships? I'm on Ship 5, which apparently lacks a concentrated english block, unless I'm mistaken.
