Here's That Grand Theft Auto V Trailer All the Kids Are Talking About
I've watched the trailer about 30 times now. Yep I'm excited.
For those that don't know yet, Trevor is totally middle age Jack Nicholson.

Now that you mention it yeah getting a real Sopranos vibe.
Good it's not just me, also doesn't Tony Sopranos son go though a gansta phase also his daughter seems simular? Again I've only seen the first episode. The pool reminded me of that episode.
There's a movie called Sexy Beast. You guys should watch it.
I mean, you should watch it regardless, but I wouldn't be surprised if R* is pulling from that a little bit.

I own it. Don't remember a whole lot from it other than Ben Kingsly.
@Nottle: It's about a rich former gangster who's retired and spends all day hanging out in his mansion by the pool, and then gets dragged back into the game etc. Never watched Soprano's though so maybe that is a closer fit, I dunno.
I've always been a sucker for GTA games, or any games that Rockstar releases. For me this trailer looks really great and the graphics look wonderful. Also, it looks like the game will be set more over the top than GTA IV, which is definitely a good thing. The Ballad of Gay Tony was awesome and I wish that whole game was more like that.
@charlie_victor_bravo: I'm actually having the opposite response to the new trailer. I'm pretty much a sucker for everything R* does but this trailer really is putting me off somehow. Technically the game looks pretty amazing. The graphics are much improved over GTA4 and if it's true that the world is bigger than RDR, San Andreas & GTA4 combined, that sounds awesome. However what they are showing in the second trailer, especially the main characters, looks really shitty to me. The old-school type criminal that can't adjust to civilian life with the spoiled wife and daughter and the wannabe ganster son. Nothing about that story sounds interesting to me. I can only hope that the unhinged white-trash Waingro looking dude will spice things up a bit.

All this trailer proved was how PR still has the gaming industry in its vice like grip. Why is there so much build up given for one measly trailer?
Well, because we were all really excited, and now we're more excited. You're right though, who the fuck advertises?
Looks good, but guys
GTA 4 still doesn't look/run that great on my PC, and the PC isn't the problem. Please don't fuck this up :(

It's hard to tell what the situation will be for GTA V on PC. It seems to be lagging behind the initial console releases which can be a very good thing (more time= better game) but zero word on it feels like they are slightly in unknown territory as far as knowing how well they can pull it off. I think it's very likely it will come though, and that it will be at least decent on PC. Rockstar has since patched GTAIV and it 'can' run decently on 'some' PCs since then (i've still had issues here and there, but I don't play it anymore.. old game) they've also released a lot of PC games since then. Though still missing some of their larger releases on PC (the red deads). So really, it's so hard to say one way or another :(
They seem to be taking it seriously, they have more experience with the PC platform for their own games and they did see what the reaction was with GTA IV. No one wants to make a shitty version of their game. Supposedly Max Payne 3 was running on some form of their own engine that we assume they would also use for GTA V, it sure felt like a rockstar game in that sense (character movement and weight, those dynamic animation systems were present and improved from the past etc) so I like to think they have as much of a head start for making GTA V on PC as one would hope in order to turn out a great PC version of the game.

So, how many people here ACTUALLY beat GTA IV? Because...I never could.
The story or the collection of everything for 100%? It never seemed hard, just tedious. I finished the story and collected a lot, but never 100% (cause why... who cares about 100%).

brand me a hater or a contrarian if you like, but this trailer did nothing for me. i'm generally not a fan of crime stories, and while this one seems to be somewhat lighthearted (which is more palatable to me than 'gritty'), i'd much prefer the utter absurdity of saints row to something more in the middle (gta appears to be straddling the line between realistic and silly). but it's just a matter of personal preference- i loved red dead and l.a. noire for creating worlds that no longer exist- i'm much less interested in a modern take on L.A.
but if rockstar does serious work on the mechanics to where everything just plays really well, i'd give it a shot.

When I was 11-12ish and didn't have a lot to do I beat vice city 100%. You know why I did it? It unlocked a t-shirt you could wear in game. Don't even remember what it says anymore.

"I completed Vice City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt". I did that too and at roughly the same age.
