    According to Kotaku, Grandia is being released for PSN this week.

    Having not played the series and only knowing them from reputation, I was wondering if I should pick it up?

    EDIT: Posted this below but might as well put it here too.

     I bought the game. Dispite the slow start, lots of text before you get started into battles, the game's combat system is very well done.

    The turn-based mechanics are top notch, I actually like the system better than most modern JRPGs.

    The voice acting is... what you'd expect from the Playstation, Saturday morning anime quality.

    Story so far is the cute, boy on his first adventure vibe. Doesn't help that the main characters are children either. But it's light hearted and charming, get's the job done.

    Would I recommend it?

    Well, I played for around 6 hours straight after downloading the game, and haven't gotten sleep until the sun has risen. If you like a JRPG with a quality battle system, this is pretty much it.

    Yeah, I'm looking for some feedback too. I love being able to put these PS1 RPG's on my PSP (even though I wind up playing them on PS3 anyways). And same with me, I never played a Grandia game (even though I own the 2nd one on Dreamcast).

    @gla55jAw:

     After poking around Grandia was apparently a very good PS1 RPG.

    Well according to Gamespot and IGN back in the day anyways.

    Must say the dubbed voice acting is fairly atrocious, something pretty common during that time.

    Definitely pick this game up if you never played it one of the most innovative jrpgs on the original PlayStation and one of my all time favorites.

    As for voice acting Id rather have atrocious voice American voice acting then original Japanese.
