Should I buy Halo 2?
Have you played the original Halo? Are you interested in the story?
It is one of the best games on the Xbox and still has a lot of people playing multiplayer.
I beat Halo 1 and 3. Heard Halo 2's campaign was crap from a friend and held off on buying it. My last final is tomorrow and I was going to go out and buy it when I finished class.
"Should I buy Halo 2?"Yes. You should. The story isn't awful. There's no cliffhanger now that Halo 3 is out. The PC version is a fine port, it's graphically better than the original Xbox version, and if your computer can run it and you've got an Xbox 360 controller, it plays fine. The Xbox version still has more mulitplayer than the PC version, but they are both still pretty playable (even though I haven't played in a long time.) Halo 2 is a fine game, and now that it's not very expencive, it's worth the money.
1) theres plenty of players online
2) the campaign pwns anyway. Maybe not the vehicle sections so much though :P but the arbiter levels are amazing stuff. And the arbiters story is way awesome as well. And legendary is certainly a challenge. As in it's very hard. Some bits are so hard you won't even be able to mighty noob combo your way for them. Because a split second outside cover means 200 plasma bullets hit your chest simultanously.
3) swat is slightly less lame
4) it's cheap!
So in conclusion... YEAH!
No, Halo 2 in my opinion is the worst in the series.
The only good bits were the Arbiter levels, but they had hella crappy level design.

I would use a 360 controller for something like DMC4 or Prince of Persia, but a FPS??
So what I got from all this is that the Yes's outweigh the No's. Some people said that campaign stinks though.
One final question, is the game fun to play?
Heck yeah. The campaign is pretty weak, but the multiplayer is still awesome. Though, last time I tried playing it online, it'd take like 10 minutes to start a single match. Hmm... this makes me think I should reconsider my suggestion...
"Halo 2 is a game that, as a serious gamer, you have to play and discover how disappointing it is for yourself."Gee, welcome to Giantbomb. Make yourself right at home!
