@djkommunist: Good News! There is already a Boktai 2, 3 and a spiritual successor
Hideo Kojima
Hideo Kojima is a game developer, producer, and director who has spent the bulk of his career making games in the Metal Gear series. He formerly ran his own studio at Konami called Kojima Productions.
Report: Hideo Kojima Starting New Studio With Former Konami Employees [UPDATED]
@omatictoast: You may be the only person I've ever heard prefer a big developer make a phone game
Was Kojima really the head for ZOE and ZOE2? I know they are both konami and the MGS2 demo pack in. The art is clearly the same style, hell Sahelanthropus is ZOE style as fuck, and the animal references.
Anyways how about a jrpg with giant robots and story full of conspiracy for the Sony platform, I heard those are big these days, but fuck it will be another game I can't play on the PC.
Can't wait to see what idea he has next. I kinda hope it's not another stealth action game because it will inevitably be compared to MGS and with a smaller team I don't think it's wise to go up against MGSV.
"I'm curious to see what will come from this. Maybe it's cynical--or maybe it's just a sign of the times--but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Kojima on stage at E3 announcing a Kickstarter campaign"
Man, @austin_walker, that was the first that came to my mind the moment I saw the headline.
I don't know, I feel like Kojima is still a well-known enough, relevant dev for Sony or another publisher to fund him for a game. The Kickstarter route makes more sense for niche games like Shenmue that publishers don't feel like they'll get a big return on. I can only imagine a triple-A story-based Kojima franchise would do pretty well, especially after MGSV.
I know this is a pipe dream, but I would love to see him use ideas from PT/Silent Hills in whatever he's making next.
I hope he finally stops that weird habit of his where he undermines the messages in his games with impractical booby ladies
Regret your words. And your deeds.
Regret them!
but srsly, glad that he's doing this because he wants to and hope it all works out awesomely. Personally I'm looking forward to something completely new (theme-wise and gameplay-wise).
I don't feel much excitement in video games nowadays, but this has got me really excited. I'm really stoked to hear more on this. Badass logo!

"I'm committed to be involved in creative activities as long as I live"
That is awesome and inspiring to hear. Man I can't wait.
See you all in 5-7 years!
Also, it sucks that his team spent all that time on the fox engine and only got to use it on one game. And I love that his new studios name is the same as the old one.
You mean the last three Pro Evolution Soccer games don't count?
After 14 years of constantly stating he wants to end the Metal Gear franchise, if his first game winds up being about nuclear equipped walking battle tanks, I might just throw him off a cliff.
Yep.

Kojima Productions developed PES?
This is great news. Looking forward to seeing what the new studio is working on, whenever they announce it.
On the 1st day of Xmas Kojima gave to me
A brand new Video game IP
On the 2nd day of Xmas Konami gave to me
A Fatal bankruptcy
I wonder if Yoji Shinkawa is also leaving Konami?
God I hope so.
Honestly, what hypes me the most about this piece of news is the fact that Sony labeled the future game as a "console exclusive", meaning that it will probably appear on PC (if that's not planned already). Otherwise they wouldn't have even mentioned any kind of nuanced exclusivity.

Dude that logo has Shinkawa written all over it. All we have to do is wait for some sort of official statement on who is there. I imagine most of the band is coming along too, Murata, Shinkawa, Imaizumi, Eyestone and such. At least I hope.
Man the logo looks amazing. Looks like a Mr. Sparkle merger of Jehuty's head and the skull from Outer Heaven.
