Man, Kojima looks like he has seen better days.
He's Punished "Venom" Kojima.

I'm hyped!
This post sums up the thread.
PC is in such a good position as a neutral third party, I hope it stays this way for a little while longer though I do wonder when Sony and Microsoft will start to see PC as a threat.
The new KojiPro logo just makes me want a game with the sensibilities of Metal Gear and the mechanics of the Souls series.
oh man.
@laxbro19: That blew me away too.
I love this
I'm really curious to see what kind of relationships Kojima proper could develop with Nintendo, Xbox, or Steam. It seems to me a smart move to work with a partner like PlayStation; you gotta have some sort of stability when starting a new business.
Wait ... hold on ... what if Kojima has some plan to make a VR game - he's done it before.
Did You Know: Hideo Kojima, famous for his Zone of the Enders series, also directed a "Tactical Espionage Action" game called Metal Gear Solid?
This was my favorite episode of sliders.
Sure it makes perfect sense that one of the big three would help out Kojima on a new project. Can't wait to see what they'll be cooking up in a few years at E3.
lmfaooooooo, good job!
I wonder if this will be a new horror game in collab with del toro?
Best possible outcome from my perspective. Unless he does a kickstarter, if there is any guy sony should bankroll it's Kojima.
@goodlymike: Haha!
Hideo fucking Kojima trying new things.
I think... I think this is the most excited I've ever been about the future of video games. Looking very much forward to where this goes!
One thing that sucks about partnering with Sony that you will not see the game join PC community.
From what they were saying in the video, I got the impression that it's a timed exclusive. This confirms it:

Q6. "What other platforms will Kojima's first independent title be available on, besides PS4?"
"The title is planned to become available on PC (after PS4)."
This is exactly what I thought would happen when the rumors started at the beginning of the year. He'd create a new independent studio called Kojima Productions with some of the key people from his old team, including Yoji Shinkawa, and he would reveal something shortly after MGS V. At this point, I find it hard to care, though. I found his last three games (4, PW and V) pretty underwhelming, each more frustrating than the one before it. I'm not even gonna finish V. At least he's finally doing something new and surprising rather than running MGS into the ground.
According to an FAQ from Sony, which was quickly taken down again!, it is a timed exclusive and the FAQ mentions that it will come to PC after the period ends, nothing about Xbox One.
Though I hope it comes to Xbox One, everyone should have the chance to bask in the glory of Kojima :)
EDIT: GameInformer have an image of the FAQ here: http://media1.gameinformer.com/filestorage/CommunityServer.Components.SiteFiles/imagefeed/featured/kojima-productions/medium-padpoet.jpg
breaking news, man with head has skull
Obviously these don't mean anything but I still think it's neat.
"I'm curious to see what will come from this. Maybe it's cynical--or maybe it's just a sign of the times--but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Kojima on stage at E3 announcing a Kickstarter campaign"
Man, @austin_walker, that was the first that came to my mind the moment I saw the headline.
I don't know, I feel like Kojima is still a well-known enough, relevant dev for Sony or another publisher to fund him for a game. The Kickstarter route makes more sense for niche games like Shenmue that publishers don't feel like they'll get a big return on. I can only imagine a triple-A story-based Kojima franchise would do pretty well, especially after MGSV.
To be fair, I'd take the more honed in story of the first act of MGS V and really good gameplay mechanics in a new game.
I kind of regret that I wasn't able to play Zone of the Enders the first time around but if Kojima's new game would be a mecha or better yet a throwback to his older projects, I'd be really stoked.
EDIT: My take away from this is Andrew House being fluent in Japanese. It was pretty pleasant watching the entire thing with him and Kojima on the same couch.
Also I'm kinda digging Kojima's facial hair.
I can't say that i'm surprised. Kojima is the only 3rd party developer who risked one of the biggest franchises into being a PS3 exclusive.
I can't wait to see his new game.
@dr_insane: uhh it says right in the article the game is being made for PS4. Even if it didn't, it wouldnt make any sense for anyone to start developing a game for the next console gen.
You know, I am glad this at least sounds like it isn't going straight to a kickstarter situation. I mean who knows, chances are these days there will be one anyway XD but it at least looks like he will probably get actual funding. I will be interested to see what he makes next.
Woot woot! I'm not ashamed to admit that I cheered at the end of that video. :-D Hurrah to you and your team, Kojima.
