Some stuff about parenthood and websites... and puppies!
You a huge part that makes Giantbomb the amazing thing it is today.....Thanks for that Dave and good luck!
Veronica is going to be the most hardcore baby. <3 It's obvious we'll miss you... But best of luck and don't be a stranger, duder! :D
Good luck Dave.... thank you for the good times.... you will always be our Top Man!!!... good bye dudder
Thank you for everything, Dave, and best of luck for the future - I have a feeling that this will be one of the best decisions you ever make. You can always find another engineering job, but getting to experience every precious moment of your daughter's first months is something that will only happen once. Cherish every second.
Hell of a ride, duder.
Ending it with "It's so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" is always the greatest way to bow out of anything. I'd say how much you'd be missed and cry but instead i'll say this: you ass better be dropping by on videos and bobmcast frequently. I will also accept a joint run podcast with you and vinny about fatherhood. Thank you. xoxoxo
Wow. It's like the end of an era or something.
Well, I hope all goes well for you (I'm pretty sure it will) and it sucks you wont be part of the giantbomb team anymore but I'm sure you'll still be as much a part of the team as you were before just with less stress or... something.
This isn't really goodbye, as you have no reason to not use the site (it is on the internet after all), but more of a good luck with whatever the future brings you.
Fuck yeah, Rorie!
No, Dave, noo! I really appreciate all the behind the scenes stuff you guys have always done. Thanks for your work on the sites throughout the years. Thanks for the always entertaining Flight Club & Random PC Game videos, the former of which is my favorite feature on the site. I wish you the best of luck in future endeavors, and hope you swing by often. Later, duder.
Did he say why? I feel like I read the whole thing, and he didn't say why. What's the new career and all that?
I had to dig a bit to find this post and was shocked to hear the news, but happy that it was all under on your own terms. I wish you the utmost pleasures in life going forward and starting it all anew with your child. Hope you'll still do some livestreams with Vinny from time to time.
You, Alexis, and the rest of the guys did a great job on the new sites. You wrapped up your GB tenure really well by hammering out the great new design we enjoy today.
Best of luck to you and your life going forward.
Of course I support Dave in whatever he wants to do with his life and career and I'm happy for him that he gets to spend more time with his newborn (so few parents seem to be able to that, these days) but it seems weird to me to just leave behind a steady job and long time friends. I wonder how that works.
Thanks for the years of effort in keeping this incredible bastion of insanity afloat, Dave. You rightfully took a pride in your work that spoke volumes about your dedication to the product and the audience, and I think it's safe to say we appreciated it immensely. Good luck with whatever you choose to do in the future (though I can guess what your focus will be for a while yet).
This is really weird why am i seriously feeling a little misty reading about someone i dont really know leaving my favorite site ever.Either way im going to miss your random pop ins on podcasts and everyhting you were invovled in on giantbomb i hope you will find success or happiness in your future endeavors duder.
You couldn't have picked a better replacement, so good on you for softening the blow like that, but dang if it isn't still sad to see you go! You're as much a piece of this site's heart as any of the guys, and it won't be the same without you. Of course, I'm also happy for ya. I know you've got a wonderful time ahead of you with that little girl.
Now, you'd better make good on your promise to visit...!!
It was around this time last year that the CBS buyout was announced too, right?
Oh, I'm gonna miss Random PC Game and Flight Club. I know he says he'll come by often, but it can't be as regular as it was last year.
Though I am happy to see Matt employed. That dude had a rough year if you've been foll0owing him.
What is Dave doing for work looking forward? He seems a bit young to retire, even if he did get a chunk of the Whiskey Media buyout money. Hopefully, he'll be back in some capacity.
