Many games attempt to immerse the player by making the real world controller feel like it's virtual counterpart with games such as Rock Band or Wii Sports. However, there are some games that forgo this idea and instead create an in-game system that mirrors that of the real world.
One of the more overt examples of this is that of Robot Alchemic Drive (RAD) where the large mech piloted by the player character almost exactly mirrors a PlayStation Dualshock controller. Though other examples exsist such as the design of the Pokedex looking remarkably like a Nintendo DS in Pokemon Pearl and Diamond.
