    Interactive Fiction

    Concept »

Interactive fiction is a format that uses text to describe characters and objects within a setting, and the use of a parser to interpret text typed by the player, allowing the player to interact with the characters and objects within the setting.

    Interactive Fiction is awesome.

I particularly enjoyed playing the ZORK series as a kid.

Anybody else have fond memories of these simpler forms of gaming?

These games and subsequent sierra text-command adventures taught me to read and spell at a far higher level than kids my age. Not to mention logical and lateral thinking and a good grasp on humour.

also, check out this parody on zork
