Kamaitachi no Yoru: Rinne Saisei (かまいたちの夜 輪廻彩声) is a remake of Chunsoft's famous sound novel, Kamaitachi no Yoru, which was originally released for the Super Famicom in 1994. The game features a completely redesigned presentation. Instead of the characters being represented as blue silhouettes, as is tradition for the series, the cast is instead rendered as stylized illustrations. Alpha, an artist known for their work on bishoujo games at Akabei Soft2, designed the characters and the whole game was made to look more like a traditional visual novel instead of a sound novel. Full voice acting and a remixed soundtrack were also added along with a new scenario written by When They Cry creator Ryukishi07.
Estuarium, an affiliate of Akabei Soft, was responsible for planning, Regista developed the title and Spike Chunsoft supervised Rinne Saisei's development. 5pb published the game for the PlayStation Vita on February 16, 2017 and in 2018 a PC port was released which contained a new opening movie but was otherwise the same.
