who still plans on getting lost planet 2? i know i do, i loved the first, and the quick look only made me want it more. who's in the same boat?
Lost Planet 2
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released May 11, 2010
In the follow-up to Lost Planet, players explore new environments as they see the story through the perspective of different groups of pirates trying to survive on E.D.N. III.
so after all the negative reviews...
I liked the first, but not enough to throw down 60 dollars when there's a lot of other games I want right now. I might get it when it's 20 or something. Nothing to do with reviews though.
I'll wait for it to drop to 20 bucks in a year. The fact that my avatar can have a Servbot head is intriguing though...

Yeah, i've been meaning to get the first as well, it's pretty cheap. Maybe after i get bored of 3D Dot Game Heroes, which i should be getting next week.
I didn't want it as soon as I played the demo. Even before then the co-op focus turned me off. I don't know anyone else who likes Lost Planet and playing co-op online with strangers just isn't how I want to enjoy a campaign. After the reviews I am even more certain I don't want it. The controls don't bother me that much. They were the same in the first game which I really liked, but the whole limited lives, respawn points in SP, and terrible AI has made me not want this game at all.

I don't know if there is much difference between the regular and Colonies edition (enough for me to care), so I will go with either." @Shirogane said:Yeah, i've been meaning to get the first as well, it's pretty cheap. As far as i know, the differences are multiplayer modes? Somebody else may be able to clarify though.
On the note of Lost Planet 2, EBgames in Australia are selling the limited editions for the same price as they're selling standards.
I was expecting that you can play as your own customized character in campaign, and I was expecting a strong storyline.
Thank God we have Quick Look on Giantbomb. They just kept me away from wasting $30 (yea, it's chaper on PC in Hong Kong).
I loved the first one, but if they havn't improved the clunky controls that won't help my decision. But working with 3 fake AI with fake gamertags? Fuck that shit. No thank you. I will pick it up down the line when it's at clearance price.
It really depends on how much you like third-person shooters generally though; it's definitely bargain-bin if it's not a genre you're into.
The first one was my first 360 game (along with Gears of War) and I loved the shit out of it. I picked Lost Planet 2 up today and can't wait to get back into the multiplayer.
I didn't like the first so I probably won't get this one at any price. I had a major problem with the huge explosions the mechs could see through and I couldn't it led to a lot of what I felt were cheap deaths that had little to do with my skill and the unfair advantage the AI had by seeing through the smoke.
I'm gonna rent it. I picked up the first LP: Colonies for a deal and I ended up loving it. $60 is too much for just about every game, in my opinion, so unless I'm absolutely, positively sure I'm going to end up loving it a lot, I rent games.
i was really intrested in the first one and never got it.. tried the demo and it took FOREVER to ever get into a match.. so i just never got it.. i didnt really like the co-op demo last year but i got really into the competitive one but im on the edge of to get or not to get..
I don't care about reviews, negative or otherwise.
That said, the demo ran fucking terribly (PS3 version), so I'm not coming within 100 feet of this game.
Didn't like the first one, but felt it had a lot of potential, which is why I was excited for this one.
But almost everything I've seen/played of it has let me down so I probably won't be playing it.
All the reviews I've read have said negative things about all the features I was hoping would be improved.
Even if the reviews were good I probably still wouldn't get it until its drops a lot, and by then I would have lost intrest. I just don't want to spend the $60, and I considering to spend it on Red Dead.
I don't get the hate. I can understand it if you went in thinking it was a single player game, but they've never really marketed as such. As a purely co-op game it's a triumph. Objectives that require a team instead of kill corridors with more than 1 person.
CapGod indeed.

My two cents regarding Lost Planet 2.
I might pick it up used when it drops in price but even though I enjoyed the first and enjoyed the demo, for some reason I am just not that excited about the full game
I didn't really like the first one, so I've had no real interest in this one since it was announced. If it had reviewed better I probably would have given it a shot.
sadly not me i really liked the first game but i liked the single player story of it. yeah it was not the best but at the time it was a very pretty game and it was fun exporing the icey world. I'm not a big fan of the co-op overriding the single player part of the game. This game does this like no other before so i will have to pass on that but i'm sure if you liked the muiti player in the first you will love this game.
Honestly, dont be mislead by the bad reviews. They are complaining about stuff that is mindbogglingly stupid.
A) They complain about monsters being "cheap" and killing em quickly. Of course you are gonna get killed in 2 seconds if you stand still shooting the monster in the face.
B) Bad controls, I have yet to figure out what the bad controls are.... just because the game plays differently doesnt mean the controls are bad.
C) Checkpoint system, you died? Well bad luck! What did you expect?
D) And this is probably THE most single stupid point. The anchor, they complain that they cant continuously anchor in mid air, you know what would happen if you could? They would complain that you can anchor in mid air making the game really easy.
They honestly tried too hard to find bad things about the game and they picked the most stupid things. The people that complain about this game have honestly never played a game that's hard or that requires more skill than point+shoot.
