The game has been out a week and there are no reviews for it up at all on Metacritic. I would have thought that a Nana On Sha game would have had at least some attention from the critics. It's not out here yet so Ican't buy it for myself, but I'm really interested to see how it's turned out!
Major Minor's Majestic March
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Apr 02, 2009
The Wii Remote becomes a bandleader's baton as you keep tempo and try to create the most impressive parade ever.
Did anyone buy this? Can't see any reviews for it.
I love Parappa to this day, I think the songs are genius and I have no idea how they could possibly have been written... perhaps with the aid of strong drugs. Looks like there's going to be no more catchy songs in this though, one reason not to be excited about it.
I think I remember Ryan and Jeff talking about how they were kind of digging it, during the last Bombcast. I thought they may review it, but they didn't mention it in today's I Love Mondays.
Here's another one, by cheat code central.

I was expecting this game to fare worse.
I thought that was out of 10 until I saw they said it has a stellar soundtrack xD
I'll be looking forward to the soundtrack then, if an official one comes out or it's ripped, but I don't fancy waving a wiimote around like a baton for a long time.
I played it today. I love Parappa and Lammy, but this game is really just bad. The art style is bad-bad, not charming-bad, waving around the baton really strains your arm, the "story sequences" are an absolute joke (think "my first flash movie") both animation- and content-wise (it hurts), and while the gameplay of finding the right tempo and rhythm and collecting band members and items is actually quite entertaining, the one thing that could have made this game recommendable is missing: Catchy tunes. The soundtrack really did nothing for me, and that's bad for a game that tries to step up to Parappa and Lammy.
And I can't see anyone playing this for longer than 10 minutes - Because your arm is going to hurt.
The really bad thing is, it's not even a kid's game. I could have sold it as good, because it has at least this audience, but for a kid's game, it's just too hard. It really is very difficult, finding the right speed and keeping track of everything on screen.
No, in all seriousness, this game fails. It's not entirely bad and I wish there was a proper gesture-based music game, but as it stands, it's much more annoying than entertaining.
