    MUA review

Anyone who is a fan of the X-Men Legends series have probably all tried this by now, but here is my take on MUA.

    Story: 2.5
The story I feel is very good. As the game progresses, you will definately feel the sense of urgency and despair as Dr. Doom steps closer and closer to taking over the world. You'll find the main quests and sub-quests to be quite compelling and fun to complete. Once the game is over, you'll still find yourself wanting more and playing through several times.

    Gameplay: 3.5
This game is pretty much a beat em up, smash em around, hack and slash game. Although that may sound mundane, you'll rarely find yourself getting bored with it. There are also some side puzzles and mini-games to mix it up a bit in your journey to free the world from the clutches of Dr. Doom.

    Controls: 3.5
The controls aren't too simple, yet aren't too difficult. They are pretty straight forward. You have normal attacks which only require one button, and you have power attacks which require the use of a trigger. The moves are upgraded through a leveling system, which is pretty nice The more you level up, the more powerful the moves get. You can also unlock new costumes which provide different bonuses and can also be upgraded.

    Graphics: 3.5
This game doesn't use the full potential of the X-Box 360's abilities, but is still satisfying. The textures and character models are very pretty. The games very strong point for graphics are the cut scenes. They are damned fantastic and are top notch I have often found myself replaying the cutscenes just to admire their beauty.

    Sound/Music: 2
The music doesn't really stand out for this title. However, the voice acting is very spot on. The heroes sound like you'd expect them to. Wolverine sounds gritty. Captain America sounds heroic. Deadpool sounds like a crazy Spider-Man, but hey...it works! lol

Overall, any gamer or Marvel comics fan should give this game a play. This game will find itself back into your 360 console many times over. There are endless combinations of super hero teams you can try out and use, so pick this title up and prepare for a wild ride into the Marvel universe!

      A missed opportunity 0

I received a copy Marvel Ultimate Alliance (MUA) as part of my Xbox 360 Elite and from the outset I have to admit that it is not the type of game that I would typically buy. The game sat on the shelf for a while but due to my growing interest in comics I decided to finally sit down and play through the game.MUA is a brawler/RPG hybrid that allows you to control 4 super-heroes. At any given time the player controls a single character but is able to send basic squad commands to AI controlled chara...

The galaxy is at peace 0

The original Marvel: Ultimate was released in 2006, a simpler time for superheroes. Back then, superheroes weren’t at war with each other over some kind of ambiguous superhero registration act and the comics weren’t trying to reflect reality with a social commentary…or at least they weren’t as obvious. Ultimate took place back when Captain was Steve Rogers and not the three or four people that have since tried to fill his HGH-filled shoes. And with the new Ultimate Alliance 2 game seeking i...
