Mass Effect and its sequel have taken up vast amounts of my time in recent weeks, with Mass Effect 2 alone having seen about 100 hours of gameplay. While playing through these titles it suddenly dawned on me that the Normandy is quite possibly a space faring version of the Love Boat. 
 
Why you might ask? Well my reasoning is simple, by the second game virtually all of your crew are up for a bit provided you hit the right (control pad) buttons during conversation, but the effective Captain (I know Sheppard only ranks Commander, but humour me) is just like the TV show’s Captain in that relationships are actively encouraged. 
 
When working as an Alliance leader and beyond Sheppard in both male and female forms will make crew aware that fraternisation is just fine and dandy. Even going as far as indulging in a little bit of lesbian activity as a female Sheppard if you talk to Kelly often enough. 
 
I put forward that the Normandy is our generations Love Boat.

I'd rather not shag anyone on a spaceship that's riddled with cameras. The idea of the Illusive Man watching me ride Garrus like the town bike is kind of awkward.

Don't forget Mordin. For a dude who never leaves his lab he seems to know enough about your relationships to give you cross species safe sex advice.

I am sorta bummed about them only making it fade to black. Dammit Bioware, where's the not-revealing-but-yet-insinuating-cutscenes from the first game?
