She's so unobjective, even fox news tries to be objective for once. It's like damn, someone else is more one sided and illogical than we are, we better remain objective for once about videogames.

Fox news aint happy
Take her gold star away for being so stupid. Not based on real people...wtf.
...Seriously tho what the hell is a gold star mum?
I'd like to point out to her that there are quite a few WW2 veterans still around today, but she seems to think that they are not real.
Apparently the Gold Star Mothers are mothers of American armed service people who have died while in the military.
Half an hour ago I was playing MW2 with a guy in the USMC, I really don't think most soldiers give a shit about this kind of stuff so neither should anyone else.
EDIT: if it's "just not based on reality" than how is it a problem. I really feel bad that her son died, but she doesn't know what she is talking about.
" @sagesebas said:" This just in no one in WW2 was actually a real person! "We all know Hitler is actually an elaborate creation made to make the war interesting for young gamers. MacArthur and Patton were way too good to be government workers." This just in no one in WW2 was actually a real person! "Their feature on Mass Effect: "Sexbox" was not very objective, but you're right. It's nice to see Fox being unopinionated. She's so unobjective, even fox news tries to be objective for once. I want to mention that this time the reporter actually did his job and gave good counter arguments to that woman.
The interesting thing about FOX News is that many interneters don't get the whole story about it. It's not a necessarily serious network. Many who don't frequent the channel don't get the ins and outs of how it works; they often form their opinions on certain youtube clips of questionable moments through a lot of years of coverage. On the internet, FOX is typically viewed as a network consisting of Becks and O'Reillys when it has so many potentially likable and funny personalities (many of whom came from MSNBC). I'll give an example:
The network has profited on its appeal to right-leaning viewers; there's no doubt about that. Let's not forget that it appeals to many other people as well. There's a lot that goes on during the FOX News 24-hour cycle. Red Eye, this show, airs at 3 AM Eastern time.
A few years ago, an emailer from San Francisco named Jeff Gerstmann got his email read on the show. A while after that, Jeff blogged that Uwe Boll would appear on Red Eye. I don't know for sure if these two Jeffs were the same person, but that was a pretty strong coincidence considering. I even started a topic about a person named Jeff Gerstmann emailing Red Eye on GameSpot which didn't get far.
I bring this point up in hopes that people will see that someone, potentially Jeff Gerstmann, who has criticized FOX News in the past (and sometimes deservedly so) might enjoy the network from time to time. Don't be so easily persuaded without having the personal experience.
And here it goes again...
But I guess if anyone is actually watching Fox News on a regular basis, they think everything is evil anyway so w/e
I can sympathize with people in this woman's situation, but her refusal to accept the legitimacy of the cops & robbers comparison sort of tears her argument apart. People may not still be dying in WWII conflicts, but police officers and thieves have been killing people since before their conflicts rose to prominence as a children's game, and they will continue to kill people for some time to come. If someone told me that her son was killed in, say, a bank robbery, and that it is therefore insensitive to let kids play cops & robbers, I'd say, "Well, I'm very sorry that such a tragic death befell your son, but it is rather absurd to expect that such a restriction be adopted and upheld by any significant number of people."
People keep saying that "The reporter was actually kind of of neutral". You're missing the point. The fact that Fox News even gives this story air time make is where the problem lies. At this point, the Fox reporters don't have to be biased. Their primary audience of right-wing, closet racist, techophobic, paranoid, patriots has been trained by the likes of O'Reilly, Beck and the religious right to read the bias into it.
" the guy interviewing her is actually kind of standing up for the game. that surprised me. "Probably has it preordered.
Medal of Honour did this because they knew it would get attention. Nothing else to say, free advertising.
My family is German and both my grandparents fought for the Germans during ww2...should I be offended when I gun down AI German troops.
So she's on the air to tell us that kids not only shouldn't play the game but the game should be pulled from store shelves... How about all the parents out there start acting like parents and actually stop buying little kids M rated games. Is it really that hard to look at a letter on a box to see if this is appropriate for your 10 year old?
Man i'm the only one who thinks what fox think the game is more awesome than the real game. Like Damn being able to have sex in mass effect with user control. lol.
I admit that the reporter was fairly unbiased, which is a development I like, but that fact they even made this into a story kind of shows their continued bias. But at the same time I think most 24 hour news stations are the dumbest idea in the world, and they lead to the stations making non-events into national news because they need to fill time.
" @zero2000 said:Too late, I already accepted the title of Platinum Star Father last year. Titanium Moon Father is still available tho." First the Sexbox, now this. Damn...what have video games become? This is an outrage. "I don't think this is much of a controversy. The reporter isn't really siding with her. Basically she's another chic that lost her son, so she needs to take it out on someone. I just got my damn cable bill, so I'm going to take it out on EA and The Sims. And how does she get the title "Gold Star Mother"? I want a title that says "Platinum Star Father". "
Once again starting controversy where there is none.
Having a perspective and refusing to accept that of another. That's America for you.
I chuckled when the "gold-star mom" appeared.
I laughed out loud when she mumbled "Good morning" and pretended to smile.
EDIT: Watched all of the video. The gold-star mom doesn't defend her position well and just repeats the same thing over and over. I was actually really impressed with this reporter. He made sense, which is rare when the news starts talking about video games.
Fox news suck completely. But what do you expect from the same network that talked shit about Kurt Vonnegut after his death?!
" I admit that the reporter was fairly unbiased, which is a development I like, but that fact they even made this into a story kind of shows their continued bias. But at the same time I think most 24 hour news stations are the dumbest idea in the world, and they lead to the stations making non-events into national news because they need to fill time. "Exactly. It was made to fill time, not start a crises and the reporter never sided with her.
Completely unnecessary, but surprisingly professional.
This thread just makes me hope there's more blogs like those ones about MW2 where people admitted to openly crying during No Russian.
