    Mega Man 9

With the recent announcement of Mega Man 10, I decided to pick up the controller and play Mega Man 9. The storyline that they came up with was interesting. It's obviously another Dr. Wily story and this time Dr. Light gets taken to jail! So the obvious answer is to get Mega Man to save the day. I do enjoy that they take note to mention for Mega Man to be careful as he hasn't “done this in a while” So then the boss screen hits and I notice 2 things right off the bat. First off, a woman boss? This is unheard of! Second thing was Galaxy Man. This is the strangest looking character that I have faced against.

I won't go through every level by themselves but as all Mega Man levels go, there are easy parts, and parts that made me punch my pillow so much that if it were a person I'd be in jail. Mega Man 9 stands true to the other Mega Man games in difficulty. You will need to memorize levels because if you don't, you will have a very hard time even getting to the boss. Well, to be honest you're going to have a hard time anyways, but you will have an almost impossible time getting to the boss. So after you beat the bosses, you get to go to Dr. Wily's castle.

The first level was not to bad. There are a few trouble spots but once you learn them you can get through it pretty quick. The second level had me punching the pillow again. Just one spot made this level horrible for me. There is a part underwater where you need to jump at a specific spot otherwise you are going to hit the spikes and die and due to you being in a hall with a low ceiling it is insanely hard. The third level had me ripping out my hair because of, you guessed it, one spot. You're being lifted up in the air and if you go to far a claw grabs you and drags you to the spikes. It was very frustrating. The bosses of each level were not terribly bad. Dr. Wily though was. His first form you have to shoot eggs back at the boss 3 times each egg and hit him in the mouth. This was more frustrating than hard. The second version was pretty easy, just had to dodge the fire and hit him with the concrete shot. The final version I found very hard to dodge his 6 fireball assault, and when you got hit, these things hurt. I went into this battle with 1 M tank and 2 E tanks. I used them all but I defeated Dr. Wily. I wont spoil the ending but Proto Man appears and made me happy.

All in all, if you love the Mega Man series, you'll love this game. I will admit to one thing though, I hate the box art. I much rather an 8-bit looking Mega Man rather than this humanistic looking that they used for the box on the Mega Man 9 and 10 boxes. Just my personal preference. As I have said before, as much as getting through those levels makes you want to kill something, the end result when you beat it, you truly feel like you deserve it. I loved playing it but it will be a long time before I play it again.

Mega Man 9 is a side scrolling action game created by CAPCOM.

      Well... More Mega Man! 0

Let us not kid ourselves here. Mega Man has never really had a significant change made to the formula. There have been neat additions, graphical upgrades, and numerous deviations utilizing the Mega Man name, but the core series has stayed pretty consistent in terms of gameplay and presentation. So for me, a long time Mega Man fan waiting for a super sleek graphically bad ass hi definition iteration to the classic franchise (gameplay preferably untouched) , the announcement of Mega Man 9 was slig...

A game that will make you relive your childhood all over again. 0

First off I would like to start this review off by saying I have beaten all 9 of the original Mega Man games and this game ranks up their with the best of them. In my opinion I have always loved Mega Man 2 and 3 the best since it was before they started to water down the franchise with the later titles but that is for another story. But playing through this game has made me want to be a kid again where there was no worries or anything, but the main reason I wish I was a kid after playing this i...
