Medal Gear Solid 4
For my first review on this site I coulndn't have picked a better title. I want to start by saying This is the one of the best games I have had the honor of playing in the 25 plus years games I have played games. Who thought 20 years ago when MGS was started we would have ended up where we are today. Like many gamers befoer me I had many questions un answered after each of the previous games, The glory of MGS4 is we get so many of those questions answered within the storyline of this game and then some.
Many reviewers complained and over stated the long cut scenes with in MGS. I have this to say about that. For years reviewers complained on the lack of direction or where unable to understand the storylines. With MGS4 we finally get the answers and even brought us some well needed tie ins to the whole series.
The graphics show case the abilities of the PS3 and for its first attempt at the next Gen console we see a great effort to realism and motion capture. The emotion of this game is shown with great detail. the battle field looks so real and makes a player feel part of the area. the weapons look spot on and show detail and style. special effects are shown brilantly and vividly. the camo suit blends in well with the colors and textures as if it was a part of the actual scenery.
Game play is pure enjoyment. the ease of control and simple structure make it easy for any gamer to start right up. like many I love the pacing of the game and the use of reflash caption to keep the gamer involved in the storyline cut seens. the game plays easier then earlier games which means it is more inviting for new gamers new to this series. the use of magazines add a comic element.
Sound effects represent the true capture of the abilities of the PS3 again and dont leave anything for not. they also highlight the exstreme emotions through out the game.
I am so impressed with the production value of this game. I now understand how an actor feels in a movie. MGS4 takes the best of the movies and the video game worlds and blends them together as if they where just ment to be and by doing this gives me the player two differant exspierances. 1 great action adventure game 2 great movie with a great plot and story line. The best part is the use of in cut scene actions when you have flash backs and zoom in feature. The storyline was envolving and eager to please and anwser so many questions that needed to be answered. The best part was the use of so many differant charecters and how each person related to each other. the ending was a mixture of drama ,mystery, horror,love and tradegy all in one so much emotion you cant help but become a victom of one or more of these plots or feelings. I also see that if you really look we seen the start of the next generation of medal gear. I wont imply who or what but if you payed attention to the ending you will just see for your self. I left alot of plot details out of this game review for several reasons. ! so many have already spoiled for many others. 2 the storyline is just to good to write in detail about, i feel it is best felt by the gamer themselves.
I beleive this is this years game of the year and if not it sure is the best game of this gen so far. I want to recomend this to all gamers. this is a PS3 owners must have game for any gamer. May you all enjoy this game as much as i have. I also cant wait to get back to my 3rd play through. ever time i go through the game i see something differant and new.
