MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots Review
It is games like this that make me proud to be a PS3 gamer. I cannot believe the amount of detail and precision that went into creating this game. This is Snakes final mission and I am upset that this is the last in the Solid Snake series. The gameplay aspect has been overhauled compared to others in the series, and thats a good thing, the controls are tight and repsond well with whatever you are trying to accomplish. The graphics are the best that I have seen this generation on any console, the character models, the enviroments, and the vehicles just pop. Truly remarkable!! The story is not easy to swallow for some of the newcomers, but for me a self proclamied MGS veteran I was very satisfied with how it went and played out. It really completes the Solid Snake storyline. The only sad thing about this game is that it has set the bar very high, and when I say very high, I mean high. It was very hard to withstand the presentation from other games after playing Kojima's masterpiece. Again with games like MGS 4, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Ratchet & Clank Future, Sony is setting a standard of games that make you feel like you are playing in a summer blockbuster movie. I can honestly write this review and say that MGS 4 has no flaws when it comes to its single player mode, MGO on the other is not without its flaws, some hit detection and balance issues come to mind as I write, but it is still very fun and different even though its an acquired taste. If you ever needed a reason to get a PS3 this is it.
