I'm interested in it because it looks like it could be similar to Fallout 3, except instead of Post-Apocalyptic Washington DC your in Post-Apocalyptic Russia.  I don't know if it'll be "Dead Space" scary but i'm geuss there'll be quite a few hideously mutated creatures to kill though.

I think it looks great.  Seems like a darker Fallout style(similar theme) game.  Fallout was a lot of tongue in cheek jokes, this looks like the situation is really hopeless.  I've never played the SHADOW games, but I'd imagine it to be closer to them.

Yes, it's a story based game with no multiplayer. That alone should get you pumped - a shooter with no multiplayer is rare, and shows that all the effort is being put into a great single player experience.

Go look at some videos! If you have a 360, the game runs phenomenally on it. There are quite a few videos out there that show this. If not, just get the PC version but you'd probably need a pretty high end rig to make it work.

I'm definitely interested in it.  Looks like it has a great atmosphere, and some good scares from the footage released so far.

I sure am interested in it, I don't know why people are comparing it to Fallout 3, if anything it's likely to have a lot in common with the STALKER series, which is nothing like Fallout 3.

Yes, it's got some talented Ukrainians working on it and it has a great story. It's also had a  long time in development prior to being picked up by THQ.

You probably wont like it then, it will aim to be "scary", it has some nasty stuff in the novel which I'm sure they'll depict well in the game. Even the rats (mutated) looked fucked up in this game...

    Yeah Bhro
To put it simply: you know how those East Bloc games tend to have fucking awesome ideas that you can't help but oggle at, but then seem to either be ugly or broken? Well, Metro 2033 seems to have the first property, but didn't drag the latter around with it.

I think people are comparing it to Fallout 3 because its a postapocalyptic rpg/shooter hybrid with bad animations

yes, because the gameplay footage that's out clearly shows terribly bad animations.

So far the only RPG part I've seen about it is that you can buy equipment. Plus:

If it's anything like Stalker, it will be extremely atmospheric (read: immersion). The graphics look great and the gameplay is interesting as well. I don't know if it will be "scary", it's not a survival horror game, but you'll probably get a few jump scares from the mutants and such.

I have been hearing quite a bit that this game has RPG elements but I can't figure out anything more than "buying equipment."  Maybe the "good deeds, bad deeds making up the ending would be another.  Anybody else want to take a stab at this?

Well that's the first I've heard of a morality system.
The only places anyone's brought up RPG elements about this game is in forums, no interviews or gameplay I've seen indicates anything outside of the tradeable weapons using pre-war bullets as a form of currency.

@ProfessorEss:  some games are just like that. I didnt hear alot of buzz for Borderlands on any site other than Giantbomb before it came out and it was great. But you know, many European games get hardly any coverage. Sacred 2, Risen, and Divinity II: Ego Draconus all came out for the 360, but you would hardly know it from the amount of coverage.
