An artifact (or artefact) is an object discovered through archaeology, usually man made or modified. Often highly valuable and sought after by collectors.
A barrel is a hollow cylindrical container, traditionally made of wood staves and bound with iron hoops. In video games, it is used in many ways to fill up a level or even be used in one. They also may explode. Use caution when around barrels.
Beards are visible facial follicle growth, commonly associated with adult male homo sapiens. In video games, beards are commonly found in character customization systems (i.e. Rock Band) or when pirates are involved (i.e. the Monkey Island series).
A self defense weapon. The asians were first to develop a fighting style based around it.

A ball of hot flickering fire. Usually thrown from the hero's hand into the squealing face of the enemy.

Lava is molten rock, usually from the interior of a planet, and in games is often used as a hazard to players, or as a visible gameplay-area boundary.
Armor made from leather that is only slightly beneficial in defending the user.
A map is a drawing on a piece of paper, or other surface, that indicates the locations of various landmarks.
Also known as an Easter Island head, the Moai has long been a popular figure in games as an enemy or object. Konami games are especially known for secret images of Moai that the player can seek out.
A traditional Japanese polearm that were used by members of the samurai class. Similar to the European glaive.
Armor made from metal plates designed to protect a user from injury. Usually more beneficial than armor made from chain links or leather.
A potion is any sort of liquid, usually brewed by an alchemist, that replenishes the health, mana, or energy of the player, or causes damage to an enemy. Potions are extremely common in role-playing games.
A loose, fitting dress, typically worn by wizards or monks. Also regarded and used as a religious garment.
A corded length of fibers that has many uses.
