The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall from Bethesda Softworks is an enormous RPG and sequel to The Elder Scrolls: Arena. It includes a massive gameworld and pioneering freeform play. It was well received for these factors, but was criticised for a number of crippling bugs.
One of the last traditional 2D fantasy RPG's to hit the PC, Anvil of Dawn was developed by Dreamforge Entertainment in 1995.
The Elder Scrolls: Arena is the first in its series. The Emperor has been imprisoned in another dimension by the evil Jagar Tharn, who is impersonating him. It's up to the player to find all eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos to defeat Jagar and bring order back to Tamriel.
The sequel to Clouds of Xeen, which can be combined with the prior game to create World of Xeen. In this, the fifth installment in the Might and Magic series, player characters travel to the Darkside of Xeen to fight against an all-powerful villain to prevent Xeen's destruction.
A Westwood Studios developed first person RPG created as an original follow up to their Eye of the Beholder series. The Throne of Chaos was the first in the series which ultimately spanned three games.
A turn-based fantasy RPG and the sequel to Nihon Falcom's Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes. The story of the original game continues a few years later with the previous game's hero's son, Prince Atlas.
Gates to Another World picks up where the first game left off as a powerful villain that had escaped the party at the end of that adventure threatens the world of CRON with destruction.
Book I: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum was the first game in what would become known as the Might and Magic franchise, featuring a Dungeons and Dragons inspired role-playing adventure across a vast and unforgiving world.
