I was hoping that regular and hardcore team deathmatch would have party chat... alas that isn't the case.
 
Though I'm doubtful of the source... Either way, blah. Not to hate IW or MW2 or anything, but they sure know how to completely turn a game from a beacon of light to a total eyesore.
 
Still gonna get the game though, my party should normally be packed with guys so I don't have to deal with idiots aside from the lobby. It'll be like old times where we didn't have party chat. Kinda missed the trash talking actually...

It would make much more sense if they disabled private/party chat in private games because you don't play clan battles in random games, you play them in games you set up.

Wow, pretty much everything then. Anything anyone cares about at least. I understand how and why that would be done exactly, but I never play like that. MW2 to me, just like Cod4 was, I never took serious or cared to talk like that..I just stayed in parties to chat and bullshit with some friends while playing. Kinda dumb.

horrible idea, not being able to talk to friends while playing this game (if they don't want to) is more than enough to prevent me from playing it. forcing me to endure the idiocy of xbox live is not feature +1 its taking away features im paying for with xbox live.

People that want to cheat and call out enemy positions will just start using teamspeak. while the honest to goodness fanbase that uses the feature for cross game chatting gets punished.
 
as a console user i was against the whole no dedicated servers issue, but it didnt affect me, so i didnt care.

How can you use party chat to an unfair advantage in Team Deathmatch for christ sakes? I really hope this doesn't fly, it will make me want to play online a lot less

As some people have said, if it's really that big an issue for some people, they'll just find a way to use Vent/Teamspeak etc..

no you just cant use the 8 person private chat that the 360 has. you can still use the actual game chat. to me this seems like a very smart decision. "

Its like IW are trying to piss off people purposely to see if it will dint the almighty Modern Warfare 2's sales first dedicated severs now this, why would they punish the majority for what a small minority of people do before this i never heard of anybody calling out enemies positions. Why couldn't they just made it that friends have a priority to be on your team? Wouldn't this combat the problem without pissing off a load of people. It just seems like a stupid decision.

Well, I'd certainly prefer it if they allowed party chat in regular team deathmatch (it seems a bit illogical anyway since I'm sure most of the people playing the non-hardcore modes don't  give much of a damn anyway).

The only reason this really bothers me would be hte fact that I cant talk to people that arent playing MW2.

I think most people using party chat is so that they can talk to their friends and not so they can cheat. That's the only reason I use it. 
 
From what I understand if they just took out the kill-cam then you wouldn't be able to tell who killed you or where they are. They should just get rid of that or have something like a freeze-cam that's in TF2.

Well if this list is accurate, it looks like I'm going to spend most of my time playing Mercenary TDM.  My friends and I use party chat all the time, and it is not very often when we are all playing the same game.  Hopefully more modes get added to the party chat list soon.  I guess I'll play the other modes whenever my friends aren't online.

This is a dumb move.  I understand that party chat can be used for cheating but I'd rather that than have to put up with some of the people you meet on xbl.

Blocking party chat in Regular TDM but not Mercenary seems completely backwards. When you play Regular TDM you party up and are on the same team. If you see a friend playing Mercenary and join them its likely that you wont be on their team, but can use party chat to "cheat".

Its shows that regular team deathmatch still has party chat enabled.  SO if this is true I'll be happy because this is the mode that I play the most.

Anyone who is pissed with the way IW is taking features away at whim should just do what I'm going to do: Wait for used copies to show up, and just buy that. That way you'll still get to play the game, but neither IW or Activision will see a dime.

I think its totally ridiculous and if its true then I am really pissed off.  When I play call of duty multiplayer I always play it with a mate of mine, we always use party chat, have a few beers and a few laughs.  We use party chat because we dont want to have to listen to some of the dumb fucks you get on xbox live and we like to just talk as mates while we are playing.  
 
We don't cheat, we just want some privacy.
