Now that Studio Ghibli is making next gen video games I would really love to see a more adult centric game with themes similar to Princess Monanoke. That was the first Ghibli movie I ever saw and I think a nice blood soaked Ghibli JRPG would be loads of fun!

I would love a spirited away or howls moving castle type game style.

    This.

Anyways, how much of ni no kuni is voice acted? I played through the first part of the demo and there wasn't any voice acting and that really put me off. Also, the combat seemed pretty bleh from that demo, but that may have been because it just put me against a boss like thing with zero instruction on how the combat works.

@Skytylz: All of the cut scenes have voice acting the rest is just plain ol text... The combat is fun and engaging but the A.I. for other members of your party needs some serious reworking.

Was it really that blood-soaked? Other than the part early on when he fires an arrow that hits a guy's sword and rips off both his arms (which came out of nowhere), every other part of the movie is fairly bloodless, aside from like minor cuts or whatever. It's not like Mononoke is the Kill Bill Part 1 of Studio Ghibli movies or something.

I'd rather they get back to making smart, deep movies with strong influences from both modern design and tradition. I like their new fairytale like movies(it could be said all of them are somewhat that way) but I want a return to some deeper themes. Once they can make more movies on that level I think they should try a game.

I agree. But I don't think I'd go so far as to say Ghibli is "making" games. Seems to me Level 5 just had them do the animated cutscenes, but they may have done all the art. Anyone know?
