I haven't played No Man's Sky, but Brad mentioned on UPF that the soundtrack is killer. I was intrigued so I checked it out, and it is really good. Even though the gameplay doesn't appeal to me (despite all the improvements they've made since release), the music definitely has an 'epic space adventure' vibe to it. I particularly like the track 'Asimov':

Since I'm not going to play it myself, I was wondering if someone could provide some context on how this song is used in the game? When I listen to it it evokes a feeling of something pretty epic happening, and I'm curious if it actually plays out that way?

The uptempo stuff at the beginning sounds like it might kick in during combat? That drum line reminds me of shooting my way into a manufacturing lab. The second half of it sounds like what plays when you enter an Atlas station or when you first use your warp drive, both of which are pretty excellent moments that deserve the fanfare.
