My family's computer got infected a little over a year ago and than we installed Spyware Doctor and it cleared A LOT of viruses. But crappy stuff (i.e. taking forever to start up, pop ups, etc...) were still going on. So we wound up having to restore the computer to the original thing, which took forever and it wound up screwing up the way our files were organized. Recently we were infected again. We run Spyware Doctor it catches and cleans a bunch of viruses but nothing gets better. Does anybody know of any good PC cleaners or virus programs that we can download? Thanks for your time.

I have been running my computer for about a year without virus protection and my PC still runs just as good as it did when I first installed Vista...Who all uses the computer in your house, and what all websites do you guys go to. Like stated above, porn can and will do bad things to you computer, but even little game sites that younger kids might go to can be really bad.

I've used avast antivirus, which is free for download. It worked pretty well.

Most viruses need to be removed manually in order to totally get rid of it.

It seems like you are getting more than just viruses, there is spyware and trojans. The programs you should download is spybot and A-squared 2, maybe even avg antispyware.

For antivirus programs, the best one imo is avast, you send them an email, they will send you a product key, it's free and you have to renew it once a year which is also free.

Same here.  I have never used any anti-virus on my computer and everything runs fine and just as quick as the day I bought the computer.

Porn won't do anything bad to your computer...  It's how you get it.  Using P2P apps?  Going to shady websites?  Then you run a risk.

Getting good Anti virus software is only half the solution, if you're constantly getting viruses then you should probably do some research to learn how to avoid them completely. I don't use any anti virus software and I've had no problems for years.

Avast is probably one of the best free anti-virus programs out there that updates every day... AVG... and Spybot search and destroy for getting rid of spyware and malware.... and if your running vista, update all that regularly aswell.. the windows defender isn't too bad either for something that comes with windows stock.
