It's probably gonna be a good game. At the very least, it's gonna be better than SMTIV.
Persona
Depicting occult practices, fey heroes, and demons crawling out of the woodwork, Persona is Atlus' largest, most successful, and most acclaimed franchise. Beginning as a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, the series developed a sizable following in the West after Persona 3, and expanded into non-JRPG genres after Persona 4.
Persona Announcements Imminent
@fluxwavez: Aww no Sho... Was kinda hoping he would be in it this time. Although I doubt he will ever be in the Loketest for story sake.
@irrelevantjohn: I mean, I'd assume it's red since that's what the teaser site's color is.....It's pretty much the exact same shade as red as IS on the PSP, though, so I dunno.
@steadyingmeat: I'd like to assume that's only in place for the teaser site. As it can still turn out completely different.
New, weird Atlus website that appears at the bottom of their most recent Atlus Faithful email about AquaPazza (but probably has nothing to do with that game:

Kinda creepy. On the left side, take note of "Persist 5" and "Gold 4." Also, the numbers in the column are in this order:
5
4
3
2
2
Interesting. This one, though, could be related to Daylight and not Persona, however.
@fluxwavez: Not saying that this is or isn't related to Persona, but there were two Persona 2 games, no?

That's why the order of numbers was of interest to me, because Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment created the Persona 2 duology, making for two separate games, which would make, well, two "2s".
I hope the main character is fully voiced and the dialog choices are presented through a dialog wheel. *fingers crossed*
I actually wouldn't mind if the next Persona game were a handheld game, namely a Vita game. These games don't really need to push it on the "technical" graphics side anyway. In any case, a PS3 or 360 version will do just fine. Whatever the announcement is for, it's definitely more exciting to me than the incoming next-gen consoles shitting the shelves.
If Persona 5 is on a platform I don't currently own, I will buy that platform just to play that game--so I'm really hoping it'll be on a good platform...

MY bet is PS3/PS4 and with vita remote play feature. 360 or XBox One version does not make much financial sense.
In unrelated but kind of funny news, Akihiko is messing with Kanji. Apparently Mr. Baker will, without fail, consistently leave his mobile device unguarded.

I can't for the life of me figure out why you stylized "Xbox" as "XBoX."
@ericsmith: by mistake... I changed it
Get ready for Hella sonic crossover news!
Sonic is the ultimate wind persona.
@darji: Anime Charlie is kind of entertaining, but not in a way that I would ever want to play that character in a video game. That depiction of him is absolutely not how I saw him in the game. Which is basically why I hope they remain silent, because inferring some of their personality myself is exponentially better than having a character with a set personality I don't like.
@fluxwavez: I didn't come up with the idea myself, but...

I saw someone mention Conception II as well. A localization of that game by Atlus USA wouldn't surprise me, I guess, but I also wouldn't expect this website to be referring to that.
The p-ch website has updated. If you click on a box now, an image of Teddie will appear:
If you match three same Teddie images, the images will automatically shuffle.
Wonder what this means.
It means Persona 5 is going to be all about the super secret group formed from the Persona 3 and Persona 4 party members. It will pick up the story from P4 Arena.

Am I terrible for wanting new characters?
No you're right. I think it being reused characters would be unfortunate. Leave that for spin off stuff. Maybe that is what this is though, which would be unfortunate.

Yeah i think i agree here. You can have the characters from the old games in a new game, even as fairly focal characters, but their issues and stories have pretty much been solved in their games. We can see what happens to them in the future after the events of their games, but any new game should have new main characters and party members for you to S. Link with and find out about.
PS. I totally forget to add this:
Eff Teddie!! Godamn Bear!
Gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out to see Teddie show up on the site. I was really hoping it was gonna be a P5 announcement with an all-new cast. I'm getting a little weary of all the P3/P4 milking.

Persona 2 featured returning characters from the original game, and Persona 3 had at least oblique references to characters from both Persona and Persona 2 (not counting the MMO username references in the Maya Social Link, as those are only Maya and Tatsuya in the English language version). That Persona 5 should feature characters from Persona 3 and 4 in some capacity shouldn't come as a shock to people.

It's not really a shock, though, for that very reason. I guess I wouldn't mind P3/P4 characters showing up alongside a new cast a la P2, all things considered. Perhaps seeing Teddie's same old dumb mug on this thing I'd been hoping would be all shiny and new kind of made me jump the gun.
The presence of existing characters wouldn't bother me, but I would like newer characters as the stars. We can certainly have both.

Only if you're saying that Ghoul shouldn't come back. He just wants to hang out! But seriously, as much as I love the P4 cast, especially how perfect they were for the Endurance Run, it's time for some new faces.
Also, I hope they announce P5. It's been too long since the Endurance Run, and I feel like Jeff and Vinny would be super stoked to play that game together after all this time.
