You can buy a PSP 3000 with a 16gb memory stick for less then $250.

PlayStation Portable (PSP) is Sony's first entry into the handheld gaming market. The PSP also sports multimedia features including music and video playback, a photo viewer, and an online store. Several model revisions have been released: the PSP-2000, 3000, PSPgo and the PSP-E1000.
Would you rather buy a PSP GO or a PSP 3000?
3000. Same hardware, much cheaper, cheaper games.
I only recently bought a 3000, and I'm very glad I did.
PSP 3000, bigger screen, does everything the PSPgo does, plus it had umd drive, and it's cheaper. However, if the 3000 was more expensive, I would buy the PSPgo for sure.
I love my PSP 2000 and i have no need to upgrade to a "go!" . It really is sad that sony doesnt understand how bad of an idea this is. Make it 80 dollars more expensive than the 3000 not to mention its only $50 dollars cheaper than a PS3, and in order to use future add ons like the camera for Invizimals, you have to buy an Converter Cable Adaptor. Yes thats right you need an add on for an add on! They are yet to name a price for the Converter Cable Adaptor but anything over $10 would be an insult to gamers. Sorry needed to vent.
I like the look for the Go, but I can't get past the games issue. If Sony figures out a way for people to transfer games they bought on UMD to the Go, I am open to purchasing one...once they drop the price by at least $50.
PSP Go!.
I've either beaten all of my old UMD games or don't really have much of a desire to play them. I really like the PSP Go!'s aesthetic and ultra-portability, and most of my PSP games I already have a downloaded version of. Also: my PSP's Memory Stick Duo is actually a memory stick micro with a duo converter, so transferring everything over would be easy, too.
I don't get all the Go! hate, especially about it not having a UMD drive. Does anyone still regularly play a PSP game on a UMD? Does anyone like the UMD format?
I'd rather buy a PSP 3000. A PSP Go is just too expensive for me, and I don't see any reason to graduate straight to a PSP Go.
I used to be an avid Video Game Collector and as such, need all the space I can get and I don't have much, so I pick the Go.
im just going to wait until the go drops in price (which it will) then ill think about getting one. and even then ill wait until peacewalker comes out for it
The 3000 is more appealing right now but rather than buying one of those only to then set it aside when the Go is cheaper I'm just going to wait for the go to get cheaper and then buy it.
I'm willing to bet the 3000 will be slowly phased out and new psp games will eventually only release on PsN, by then hopefully it will have that price drop.
" My answer would actually be the PSP 1000, because it does all the same things and is much cheaper. "This, plus the screen doesn't have the lag that the 3000 does. Pspgo is fail.
Ben Kuchera at Ars Technica just obliterated the PSPGo! It is a pretty awesome review.
" I think that "review" was pretty poor. It came off as just fluff and says I hate the 'GO' blah blah blah. It seemed that he didn't come at the device with its merits and faults. Ars Technica are usually really good at their reviews but if he hated it so much that he should have just wrote 'Go sucks' on one page and be done with it. "What review is that?
I would get a 3000, the Go sounds cool until you realize there is no way to turn UMD games into Go games. They should really do some sort of PSN connectivity with the original PSP and the PS3 or somehow make it so you can authorize your PSN account to DL UMD games you already own onto the Go.
