Dragon Ball FighterZ has some real jams on its OST, but I'm expecting Smash Ultimate to take the cake

I liked this season but felt a bit let down. It felt like 90% of the season was dedicated to Dracula's underlings, while the Cv3 party spends 6 episodes just going to Trevor's basement and then hanging out. I understand the show isn't going to just be a 1:1 recreation of them going through the jungle level and then the clock tower level and then the boat level, but I feel like they could have done more with them, had them go through more to be able to stop Dracula than have Sypha find a spell in a book and then have Alucard do all the work against the big guy. And I feel like Trevor in particular was completely under-utilized, essentially his entire point in the season was just having access to a warehouse full of magical mcguffins. All three of them should have worked together in the end to be able to take down Dracula, rather than it essentially coming down to just Alucard. I enjoyed the show, but the ending to the first season felt like it was going to be the start of a huge adventure, and we just didn't get that.

@TechnoSyndrome: I hate to say it but my most hated thing about DmC is the story and characters. Dante himself is just insufferable and the whole game takes itself too seriously. I never used the term cringeworthy anymore because the internet butchered it but that game is cringe worthy.

Gameplay is pretty fun but yeah it's pretty broken and easy a lot of the time

The story and characters are awful but you watch the cutscenes once and then skip them every subsequent playthrough. If the cutscenes were the only problem people wouldn't hate that game.

4 is structurally a weaker game than 3, but in every other regard it is a better game than 4. The combat is far better with Dante's style switching and Nero's everything, and in general combat feels smoother and more responsive than 3. The enemies are more engaging to fight than 3's punching bags, and while there are a few clunkers (namely the possessed enemy set), 3 had its share of bad enemies like the angels, blood bats and those little bastards that just rev up to shoot light bullets at you and dash out of the way constantly on higher difficulties. DMD mode doesn't give the enemies all ungodly amounts of health that turns the game into just farming for DT meter so you can use DT Explosion, a decision in 3 I absolutely hate.

The only thing 3 has going for it is there's not as much repeated content, which only really matters in a first playthrough since in a replay the entire game is essentially repeated content. 5 is looking like it's easily going to knock 4 out of its spot as the best Devil May Cry game, but until then I'm going to continue singing the praises of 4.

(DmC: DMC Definitive Edition is a decent game but near universally awful "cinematic" bosses, constant boring platforming, and one particular brokenly designed weapon keep it from ascending beyond "fun casual action game")

Honestly I'd recommend watching both. The anime arc changes a decent amount of stuff with more fleshing out of the characters, but the movie has a lot of great little moments and fight scenes that the anime is missing. The Beerus arc of Super is really boring though and you're really missing out compared to the movie.

The bit about how older games on all platforms might totally break has me really worried about it. I hate my dumb PSN name but it's not worth not being able to play certain games to get rid of.

I wouldn't mind an optional achievement system, but I absolutely don't want games to be obligated to put in achievements to fit some system-wide criteria.

Yes, the combat is totally serviceable and I'd maybe even argue is better than Automata's. While Automata's combat has more going on in it, you never actually need to use most of it and end up just abusing the dodge a lot. I became sick of the fighting in Automata a lot sooner than I did the originals.

Also don't listen to anyone telling you to just watch stuff on YouTube, you have to experience the game for yourself.

Nier and Jet Set Radio Future for games I'd love to replay at higher res or more stable framerates, and all the Splinter Cell games for a series I never played and would like to.
