Watch the Quick Look. That frame rate is kind of gross for most of it. But it still looks playable, an if you're OK with that and you really want the game, then go for it - and if you like it enough, get it on PC when it goes on sale for crazy cheap a few months from now and play it in all its gorgeous 60FPS glory.

I love how you've become such a PC fanatic, it's awesome! I'm serious not sarcastic :)

I can at the very least confirm that, when given an alternative, people may want to ward away from the PS3 version... framerate is pretty shoddy overall and it's down right atrocious during some of the cutscenes. Guess I should have expected as much, but consoles are all I've got so I decided to give it a chance =/ Being poor sucks.

You know dude, I've been seeing you say the same thing for more than a year now, and I think if you save all the 60 dollar stacks you spend on all the PS3 games you buy, and you buy a lot of them, you'd pretty much have enough money for a moderate gaming PC in a matter of months.. Then it's all love and sex with Steam's and GMG's fabulous prices.

It's actually a conservation plan because you will no longer be spending 60 bucks on every game you want like the console forces you to.

I'd rather get HBAO, 60fps and perfect controls than a couch and TV.

You can have all that while also sitting on a couch, connected to a TV, and using a mouse and a keyboard if you choose to! It's not a matter of either or.

I mean, I can do it whenever I please, I just don't do it because monitors are far better looking than TVs, and my gaming chair is more comfortable and "gaming-spirited," if you will, than a fat couch that makes me wanna take a nap.

Left my new PC and big monitor at campus, I'm home for the weekend on my old 8600 GT/AMD Athlon dual core rig and a small 18 inch ASUS monitor. Running Far Cry 3 on lowest everything. Looks GREAT!

S'all about gamesing.

What the hell is an Amnesia Fortnight daily update, and what is Autonomous?

Anyway, that picture is FUCKING creepy because the dude you're talking about looks like his evil twin or something. Not quite him, and not quite different. Fuck my mind.

I don't sneeze in public. I'm serious! Somehow I can control my sneezing, I don't pressure it in and damage my brain or anything, I just will it away.

Last time I sneezed in public was in the 8th grade I believe.

I'm really fascinated by the people who have been holding an internet conversation/discussion/argument on a forum for 80 pages and a span of days. I mean, god damn, where do you get the time, the patience and the energy to type long ass posts and read longer ass ones, let alone the interest?

@AhmadMetallic: Wow, okay, fuck you too. Asshole. I was trying to be nice, but it's obvious that you're a twat.

Telling someone a game isn't for them and finishing with the word "sorry!" just because they want to inquire and ask questions about it and not blindly buy it, really isn't my idea of being 'nice.' Again, feel free to not comment on my posts regarding this game.

@MikkaQ: The playing is not fun if I can't tweak feces off my screen.

Well the game doesn't have any distracting UI elements other than the typical prompt confusion that most games seem to have these days "Is it E to pick up the weapon or to loot the corpse? Oh both, okay... way to go." but that's easily ignored if you don't have OCD or something.

I just finished watching the Quick Look, and I disagree. The white detection indicator line is incredibly annoying (seriously there's no HUD settings screen?), the flashing corpses and plants break the immersion, and the minimap is stuffed with icons.

Also, does the game rely on me tagging my enemies and watching their movement through walls, or can I choose not to use the wallhack and use my eyes and ears to detect and eliminate the enemy? Like, if I skip the tagging, would I get fucked?

See that's strange because after playing for like three hours I never noticed flashing corpses or plants. I guess they are there thinking about it after the fact, but I'd hardly call that a distracting UI element, it's way too subtle. It also makes things easier to find in the end which is good, because anything that slows you down in that game just saps out all the fun. It's a great game when you're constantly on the move, but the moments of looking around bushes for the animal you shot totally kill it.

As for tagging, I don't use it too much. It happens automatically though if you stare at something too long with your sights, and using the camera tends to tag the fuck out of everything whether you want it or not, so it's probably pretty hard to avoid.

But if these are the kinds of details that bother you with games like these, then I definitely recommend you stay away from this one. It's not the kind of game you place under close scrutiny, like Just Cause 2, it's the kind of game where you should be having too much fun to get bogged down in that kinda thinking.

Very interesting. So you're getting a Just Cause vibe out of this game rather than a Crysis 1/The Saboteur/etc.. vibe? Maybe I'm approaching this from the wrong angle then.

I mean, Far Cry 1 and 2 were in fact serious games so I guess the studio took a new turn with this third installment. So this is basically a console-friendly, acrade-ish STALKER game? Hmm that actually sounds like fun.

I guess I can let all the handholding and screen indicators slide if the flow of this game is all about crazy action. I was expecting an experience a little more serious and skill-dependent is all.
