Only buy it if you like the mulitplayer

Ok, is there much single player content in the pipeline? I enjoyed the game well enough, I think I'd like to see a bit more, but I'm on the fence about buying the season pass. To be honest the multiplayer has been passing distraction for me in all it's interations.

Three of the five pieces of content are going to be single player. About an evil George Washington using a Piece of Eden to make himself King of America.

and occasionally someone guesses right or uses Wipe for God knows why (inferior to Mute in virtually every respect, though mute was a sporadically useful ability in its own right)

Wipe is actually a really good ability, just not from a defensive capacity. As an attacker, it's probably one of the most useful. While it takes away Mute's kill/stun blocker, Wipe basically provides the Templar Vision effect, exposing your target, but at the same time making a panic-smoke impossible due to the ability lock. It also has a massive radius (the minimum is twice the size of a max-range crafted smoke bomb) so you can approach your target safely, and a decent duration to close in for the kill.

@xxizzypop: Done that. It puts a second gun into my holster until I leave the zone, at which point it just simply disappears.

You actually get a gun in your second holster? I didn't even get that much, just an empty holster hanging off Connor's belt.

What is wolfpack? Is it like the team based deathmatch?

It's a co-op mode where the objective is to reach certain score limits before the time runs out. The scoring follows the same basic premise as the normal multiplayer: you get more points for low-profile or stylish kills than straight up ganking the targets. There's also optional objectives (i.e. get an assist bonus, get an aeriel ambush, get a focus-poison kill, etc.) to help with the scores.

The targets are specially designed NPCs not seen elsewhere, who each have their own quirks. They all have what I call a "freak-out" meter, where if you make yourself too obvious they'll bolt and try to escape. As you get higher through the waves more complex NPCs appear, including ones which use abilities to stop you like smoke-bomb, decoy or bodyguard, as well as some which morph the groups they are in to make it harder to find them.

It's all about working as a team to get your targets and kill them all as silently and efficiently as possible.

@lusence: Use the book at the manor, or at any general store. Then it's the right most option in the menu.

Play it with friends, that's all I can suggest. It's really good fun when you're actually working as a group, letting your partners build their scores. I just with there were a bit more variation in the optional missions, or even a different sync-kill animation. That little scene is cool the first time you pull it off (especially the round 25 one), but it gets just a tad repetitive seeing it for a 10th time.

I had much the same experience as you playing with pubbies, lots of people running around like headless chickens, making it to about round seven or eight if they were lucky. But amazingly I did manage to complete all 25 rounds in a group with no voice-com.

Trade furs using the convoy system, you'll make far more money than you can ever spend. If you want to increase profits, liberate the forts to reduce tax and lower the chance the convoys will be ambushed en-route.

Assassins upgrade through sending them on missions around the colonies. Open the Assassin Guild Menu (Hold LB then press X), and choose a mission to send them off. They level up fairly quickly.

You get a new assassin recruit every time you fully liberate a zone in a city. Once you've done them all (there should be 2 different types, 3 of each) in a district, you do a special mission and the contact becomes the assassin.

@Fredchuckdave: Fear not, I am the best player in the entire world and I shall make everyone jealous of my stabbing skills.

I once got a kill worth 250(!) points, you know.

If you can get through the game, Dark Souls is an easy S-Rank. Do it, Cin, you know you want to.

S-Rank!
