You're being silly. It just would have been cool to play as a female protagonist in a GTA game. You're way too quick to jump on the "FUCK FEMINISM!!!" bandwagon. The only one making it an overblown PC issue is you.

Why am I being silly for pointing out the many manginas out there who want to play female characters. I have played portal, resident evil 0-6 and code Veronica . Most have strong female leads. I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT! I dont. I really dont care if the characters are male or female in the game I am playing as long as the game itself is funny. The forced progressiveness is what I distain. The, "I am so broad minded and smart cuz I long for the option of another gender in the game" BS. What would change if there was a female character avatar in GTA V? Would she be less criminal? To be honest, if there was a female character criminal in any future GTA she would probably be a lesbian and butch. That would be the only natural choice. Like some of the bicker-chicks in Lost and the Damned.

To summarize; I do not object to any game character as long as it doenst seem forced and PC (cuz I am playing on console) like some of these comments. I just dont get the "longing for" that in GTA. Like THAT is what is missing. What I think is missing is character choice. I know GTA is story based, but some character options would have been nice.

Also the "you are the one making the fuzz" ending is dull. I just point out how stupid it sound. I have a right to do that and it is a PC issue forced by progressive manginas.

Color me disappointed Rockstar Games continues to focus exclusively on male protagonists, but given how much better the downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV was (focused, efficient storytelling), I'm already way more interested than I was a few minutes ago.

Why do you care about the gender of the character? Is it important for you to play a woman shooting down cops? Where is this wave of feminism or gynocentrism in gaming coming from?

Anyway, you are suppose to play a villain anti-hero criminal. Something tells me feministfrequency wouldn't approve of such a bad trophe for women as a criminal (who probably used her feminin qualities to get out of troubles). Stick to men. Its safer ;-)

In short: I am really getting tired of this forced issue of one group being more or less represented in something or other. It so nonsensical. There is a reason for it being this or that way and it isnt always sexist, racist, ageist, homophobic or all.

That said, it would have been fun to make GTA more RPG where one could name the character and perhaps model it abit. That was sort of the orignal (you could name him yourself and choose from a variety of character of both sexes, if I remember correctly).

I wasn't trying to get in an argument about politics here btw, it's hardly the place for it and I'm not such an informed individual that I could get as in depth as would be required to do this properly, so I'll bow out.

Dont you know that the internett is mostly used for argumenting politics and religion? Or more precise ridicule conservatives and christianity?

I would like to give credd for your comment "I'm not such an informed individual that I could get as in depth as would be required to do this properly, so I'll bow out." Thats more humility and self insight than I am used to online. On the interweb most people, from the age of 14-80 believes they are knowers of everything and the keepers of the axioms of undisputed truth. Kudos. That said, you ought to not have been so "bombastic" on your first comment, if your true intent was not to argument.

It's like choosing between being stabbed to death or shot in the face, you never really win either way, it's just preference of how you get fucked over ;)

No it is not. That meme has got to die. "Lesser of two evils" = democracy is evil. You dont believe that right? Then at least you should offer an alternative to be scrutinized.

As a non american, I'd just like to let it be known that the entire rest of the world wants america to vote for Obama, so.... you know.... don't fuck this up?

I am from Norway and I dont. I want people to vote for Romney or whomever they like. USA is a democracy, and a independent country and should not be forced to have leaders placed there by Europeans. We dont know how its like living in the US. Europe is not a utopia. In fact most of Europe is drowning in debt, have culture-crisis. We are an experiment who slowly fails.

I wasn't saying Europe was perfect, in fact I was implying that as 'leader of the free world' the president of the U.S.A has enough influence over how things are that it will even effect us over here, and for that reason I hope they make the right choice ;)

Well, you got your wish. Obama got elected. Now lets see what happens and if that was the right choice.

America is getting more and more PC and I am afraid that will be your downfall. I see people like FeminsitFrequency and Nostalgia Chick who wants to put everything on a feminist spinn and often ruin the product in the process.

An example of how NostalgiaChick´s message affects others and perverts movies with her feminist crapp: In the NostalgiaCritics review of "Disney´s the Little Mermaid" (1989) he said he loved the Little Mermaid. How the love story was more compelling and how the Little Mermaid was an appealing character. Then he mentioned he saw Nostalgic chics video review and how she said "The Little Mermaid doesnt change at all" and that the moral of the The Little Mermaid was that if you bitch and whine you get what you want (talk about projecting ones own values, eh?). Now I dont want to analyse the Little Mermaid to death, but I think a normal healthy, non PC person would agree that that is NOT the moral of the story. The moral of that movie is (like most Disney fairytale) that love conquers all and that true love is worth sacrificing for. Nostalgia Critic even notes that, when Ariel almost dies in the end but then adds (to be PC) "that scene wasnt long enough".

That is the problem with feminism. Its a dissecting tool meant to ruin any text and adds its own nonsensical values. These values are that women worth is more than a mans worth. That one should remove female stereotypes (or at least only have female empowered stereotypes) and that negative men stereotypes (being simple, aggressive, basically variations on Homer Simpson) are fine, but positive stereotypes (like the action hero, or the wimp who ends believing in himself) should be criticized to death and removed from pop-culture. Its so clear that many feminist art critics either dont understand or dont want to understand the female characters they criticizes.

@Yummylee: You seem to be a real fan of the franchise. I respect that :-)

One of the things I enjoy with the games is the humor and secrets that sometimes can be found in the game. Like how you looking a drawer in the STARS office (I believe its Wesker´s desk) for like 70 times and then you get a photo of Rebecca and stuff like that. I kind of hate the mercenary games (as I suck so much at it) but I like how one can play dead characters, villains etc and how they are very different in strength and power .

I dont remember Jill being over equipped in the game (on the first run), but I have only played the remake for gamecube so I dunno. I like how the first two games have same story different character with small differences That was lacking some what in the 3, CV and 0 games. Then again Nemisis had all those challenges and changes to the stories based on choices. That was so funny.

One thing I miss from the 4th game was the merchant. I lauged when Leon said "Welcome back, stranger" in the 6th game as I thought that was a reference to him. I also found it funny how the merchant had red eyes, which meant he was probably infected by the las plauge parasite himself.

HUNK is also a great part of the game. He has only been in one game (as a side character) but rarely seen or played afterwards. Its a kind of a great mission in the Umbrella chronicles with HUNK. I especially liked the radio he listens to when people are going insane in Raccoon city. I havent played Darksiders yet, but I think I want to later.

I am not saying that RE series is not survival horror though. I am saying that RE 4-6 is more action oriented survival horror while the old ones are more "adventurer games with guns". The new games are linear while the old ones are more grounded.

I have no real complaints about RE6. Its epic-demic! So many great adventures in that game. Not a dumb plot (like 5 was... although I enjoyed 5 to, I really hated the last chapter of the original game). I think people are really hard on 5 and 6. They are innovating, with great chance for strategy and fun. If people dont like those game I do not know why. They are frustrating to play, but so has all RE games been. I think I swear the most while playing those games. Like the camera angels of the old games (and also some camera angel parts of the 6th game like the running sequence in chapter 5 of Chris campaign). We know there is a zombie creature in the room, but we have to shoot blindly cuz its out of the scene. Its a great and adrenaline pumping effect, but also very aggravating. I think people think that when they die alot its because the game is faulty, but its to get the adrenaline running.

RE stoped being a point-and-click survival horror game after RE 0.

lol wut

Resident Evil was more like adventure games, with ammo, until RE0. I called it point-and-click survival horror. Now its more "lack of ammo with strong opponents" survival horror. There are few puzzles etc. RE4, 5 and 6 are more action orientated I like them and I like the old ones. I enjoy RE6 for its innovating co-op, its action oriented story and all kinds of things to open and expand. People who miss the looking for keys in a mansion (instead of just knocking down the rotten piece of wood) story could go back to RE 1, 2, 3, CV and 0. That was what I meant. I love them all.
