I was a newcomer to the series and I didn't have any trouble getting accustomed to things. My brief review of the game actually touches on this topic. Reading that might help you out, so I hope it is alright that I plug that here.

I'm fine with that. There will be plenty to play this year.

The only thing I really noticed when I popped SSF4 in was that there seems to be too much empty space at the character select screen. There are more characters, yes, but I think they could have made their icons a bit larger and easier to see!

No. Caffeine is for the weak. Also, lots of sugar (or artificial sugar) is bad.

I don't listen to it on the bus to class for fear or grinning and laughing like an idiot. I usually listen to it when I get home and take a lunch break from school while I check email and catch up on random stuff online.

" Not going to pay 400 point for a character. Just give it to me for free. I gave you cash for the game. Give me all the stuff in the game. Or at least give it to people who bought the game new and put in a single use code that unlocks all future DLC characters and have people who bought a used copy (which is giving no money to whoever made the game) pay some dollars for the characters. "
I think something along these lines would be good. A code included with new copies of the game should include at least the first wave of DLC. If they continue to support the game with content way down the road I would be fine with paying for it, but it would be a nice to give a little something extra to those who buy a new copy of the game.

Typically not. I rarely buy games when they launch since I already have a backlog of games and I try to wait for sales or price drops. In the case of an absolute day-one must-buy, I will pre-order if there is a free gift-card involved, which is sometimes the case with Amazon.com or Best Buy. I despise GameStop so I never buy from there, and I hate pre-order bonuses, and I will actively avoid them.
